In the end I was quite happy with the Capital Hilton. We were pleasantly surprised to see how close the hotel is to the White House, and the hotel has quite a nice gift shop on-site (though my adult son missed the word "youth" in a shirt label - the shirt shrank noticeably in the first wash). I might have booked some nights there before our flight was canceled, but maybe I was saving a few more dollars earlier in the week. The only problem we had was that our airline gave us a voucher for one night but delayed our flight two days. I clearly discussed this with the desk clerk the first night, but then was told we were "checked out" after that night. It took a while to resolve. There's also a CVS in the same building, so all in all our "canceled flight" stay at the Capital Hilton was a good one.

This location was perfect, walked to all tourist places. I loved the staff. Especially Frank at check in. He was super friendly, and shared a lot of info. He really made me feel welcomed. I will specifically pick this hotel for next years conference because of him.

The staff - from front desk to restaurant to service staff to housekeeping - were friendly, welcoming, and kind. They were definitely the highlight of this property. The room was comfortable, and a good size for such a central location.

This hotel truly deserves a high rating. The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It is located in the heart of the city, with most of the attractions within walking distance.
