New Orleans is a very old city with great architecture. The whole vibe of the city is music, vintage, food, culture, and history. The servers are very friendly and engaging. True interest in your hsppiness.

If you want old fashioned classy service, the Monteleone is your hotel. The rooms may be a bit 'shabby chic" in appearance, but they are clean and well equipped. From the moment the doorman opens the door for you (and who still has a doorman?) to the bellman who helps you with your bags to the front desk staff and on and on, only friendly, knowledgeable personnel. If you want to "feel" like you are in NOLA, there is no better place to stay.

the location was near everything, and the historical hotel has outstanding character and charm. Limited dining experience and the in-room dining had no menu to be found by anyone. Parking is extremely expensive, plus your room lights come on by themselves or with slight movement. this can or will interrupt your sleep.

The staff was super friendly, however, upon check in we were charged a 100/night fee for incidentals.(completely normal) There was a problem with their system reading our card and we got charged twice, so two 400 dollar retainers. If I had not checked my credit card account, the one charge of 400 would not have been refunded. Also, there was a bottle of chamapgne with a note to a different guest in our room when we came back from town. I notified the front desk and brought them the note and was told to enjoy the champagne, which we did not. When we went back out, we got a call asking if we were in our room so they could retrieve the champagne. When we returned to our room, there was a different note card with free drink vouchers for a completely different guest. Although these mishaps didn't affect our stay, it left me thinking that there is something lacking with guest services/front desk. While the champagne was never retrieved, the fact that they wanted it back especially after telling us to go ahead and enoy it left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, the hotel keeps no change (coins) on hand, even at the store.

This place has it all! The Criollo Restaurant is fantastic! The Carousel Bar and its entertainment is like no other place. The Monteleone Hotel is the only 5 Star Hotel left in the French Quarter. It’s also near many other attractions such as The French Quarter, Bourbon Street, The Central Business District (CBD), The Warehouse District and The Mississippi River! And you can hop on and off the nostalgic streetcar to travel over a lot the city for just $3 per person per day!
