If you want to spend all day lounging on the beach, you can get around just fine by foot. But if you're planning on checking out areas a bit further away, you'll want to reserve a rental car for your trip to Myrtle Beach. There is also a local bus, the Coast RTA, and taxis available for those who wish to use them.
Since Myrtle Beach is famed for its beach (the clue's in the name) you'll want to plan your visit for a time of year when great beach weather is almost guaranteed. Fortunately, that takes in a lot of the year here in Myrtle Beach, where you'll get high levels of sun from March all the way through September. There is one fly in the ointment, though: There can be hurricanes between June and November, although they're far from a certainty.
