From exciting water slides to lazy rivers, get ready to slip, slide and swim your way through Disney’s typhoon-themed water park in Orlando.
Enjoy the massive wave pool and high-speed water slides of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Expect to get soaked. The variety of rides aimed at visitors of all ages and energy levels makes this a beloved water park in Orlando, Florida.
Wherever you are in the park, you can’t miss Miss Tilly, a ship impaled on the peak of Mount Mayday. As Disney® legend reports, a typhoon swept through this tropical paradise, wreaking havoc. Every half hour, a 50-foot (15-meter) water geyser shoots from the center of Mount Mayday to remind you of the legend.
Mount Mayday serves as the launching area for most of the park’s water slides. Speed your way down Humunga Kowabunga, an enclosed flume shooting down five stories in seconds. Storm Slides take you on a twisting journey to a splash pool at the bottom. Bring the whole family to Gangplank Falls, a raft ride on multi-person inner tubes.
Enjoy a relaxing break on the sandy white beaches of Hideaway Bay. Nearby, Crush’n’Gusher Water Thrill Ride provides a harrowing raft ride through hairpin turns and sudden drops.
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is the largest part of its namesake water park. Wade your way into its warm wave pool which features 6-foot-high (2-meter) waves every 90 seconds. Swimmers of all levels can wade their way into Blustery Bay and Whitecap Cove, a set of zero-depth-entry tidal pools. Sandy white beaches surrounding the rides provide a place to relax and enjoy the sun.
Swim safely with a bit of excitement in the Shark Reef. Snorkel through this saltwater reef accompanied by stingrays, small sharks and tropical fish. Go for a leisurely swim or tube ride in Castaway Creek. This lazy river encircles the entire park, passing through waterfalls, rainforests and mist screens.
Explore the water park’s several places to eat and shop. It is open daily. Admission includes snorkeling equipment for an excursion in the Shark Reef.
Reach Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park easily by car or by Disney’s public transportation. It is next to its sister water park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.
