Location was great. The hotel itself was a little run down and it was like pulling teeth to get the room cleaned and replenished. Had to do it ourselves one day. Which is not what I want to do on vacation. We got back from lunch and walking. It still hadn’t been cleaned. We were told they were on the way. So we left for 2 more hours, even though we wanted to take a nap. It still didn’t get done. We were then told they were still coming waited for another hour. Than just went and got what we needed ourselves. They finally came at 5:30 after we did what we needed ourselves and amended our day around it. Which kind of sucked. It was our vacation. I don’t want to clean and go fetch coffee for the morning, towels, toilet paper etc. But, if you don’t care about that and higher end rooms… the location was great as far as public transportation goes.

Stayed at the Cambria while on a baseball trip. Location is very central, easy to walk to a lot of highlights such as the Art Institute, Riverwalk, etc. I found the room very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower was great! Check-in was a breeze. A few small issues: I was told I could call down and let the front desk know I was checking out, to save me from going to floor 9 (hotel lobby) but nobody answered the phone on several tries. The things I missed was a room safe and a bath robe but I would still stay here again.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Cambria Hotel in Chicago, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. One of the standout aspects of our stay was James, the doorman. As many other reviews have noted, he truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. His warm, professional demeanor made a great first impression, and he was always ready with helpful recommendations and a friendly smile. The hotel itself was decently clean, though it does show some signs of typical wear and tear. While the room and common areas were generally well-maintained, a bit more attention to detail could go a long way in refreshing the overall appearance. Despite these minor issues, the comfort and convenience of the hotel made our stay enjoyable. We appreciated the central location, which made it easy to explore the city. For anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Chicago with excellent service, the Cambria Hotel is a solid choice.

Beds much too soft for my 65 year old back. Spent my vacation with back thrown out. Front desk requires 150 dollar deposit for amenities. There are no amenities. No mini bar. No room service. My key card failed and the front desk expressed no concern at all. It was very convenient to the theaters but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Overall for one night is was fine. I was supposed to have a room “upgrade” but our room was small and stuffy prior to us lowering the AC. Very limited dining options. Bed was comfy.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Loop with easy access to the CTA. The facility is clean, beds are super comfy, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Being in downtown you will see some sketchy people around the area but you have to expect that in a place like Chicago. Just be aware of your surroundings. Once you are in the hotel, it is very safe.
