We had to wait until after 8 to check in, did not get the rooms we deserved- were asked to leave the bar area after waiting 4 hours to check in, w $150 tab our kids pizza had arrived since our dinner reservation was missed. Our kids and us had zero access to lobby restrooms as so many dance teams took them over to do hair and make up . I guess it’s better than our last visit last month- where our belongings were stolen, but recovered from our room. Hardly hospitality. To the JW going forward

Only complaint was the Hilton app said I could check in and get my virtual key and could skip the front desk. Unfortunately we still had to go the the front desk as it kept saying our key would alert when room is ready. We arrived 1 1/2 hrs after checking. Front desk did upgrade our room. So just fix the app so misinformation is not given.

Grand Rapids Overnight Stay
We were in the area to go to a show at the Van Andel arena and decided to stay the night. We are Hilton Honors members and love how beautiful the Amway is decorated so we decided to stay there. When we checked in we were upgraded to a river view corner room with floor to ceiling windows and it was just gorgeous.

Wonderful stay, but need better quality sheets
The Amway Grand is a beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The Christmas decor was gorgeous and we enjoyed wandering around the hotel and taking it all in. Absolutely love the conveniences of restaurants, little shops, and a Starbucks coffee all inside the hotel. We frequented all of them! The staff was all exceptional and friendly. Our view of the river and city from the 14th floor was stunning! We had such an enjoyable stay at the Amway. The ONLY reason I am giving this stay a 4/5 stars is because of the bedding. The sheets felt like sandpaper. I was shocked when I felt them. My husband, who can make do with just about anything, had a hard time sleeping because of how harsh they were. He actually asked for a new set, which they brought up to our room quickly, but they were also cheap and harsh-feeling. Unfortunately…Amway just uses extremely cheap sheets. I’ve had better quality sheets at a Red Roof Inn. 😂 Overall…the hotel was classically beautiful and a Grand Rapids icon that I would definitely recommend staying at and I hope to stay there again. I’ll just bring my own sheets from home next time.

Great stay but… Luke warm water
Everything about this hotel has been amazing. The only con for our room was the water wouldn’t heat up to the right temperature. The engineers did come over and explain that they can’t control the hot and cold temperature since it’s mixed together. We had to run the water 15 mins prior actually showering. The water is room temp to like warm at best. We did get an offer for a room change but we were only there for a night so we chose not to.
