Definitely a quirky place to stay. Very much a not-hotel hotel. They took everything you probably don't like about a hotel and made it different. Mostly in a good way. Bright colors in the rooms. Rooms with character. "European quilts on the beds which are comfy and cozy, but we found they tended to slide onto the floor while sleeping. Has a very "keep Portland weird" vibe. We did notice that sound carried easily in the hotel, so not as quiet as it could be. Very little outside noise though and our room had a very nice view of the river. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something a little different. One downside is they have a nightly resort fee a parking fee, and lodging tax (in no sales tax Oregon!) that drives up the room price to about $200 / night when the advertised price was around $130. Just beware and watch the final price and read diligently.

I have stayed at several StayPineapple properties in Washington state and have loved every moment of those experiences. The Hotel Rose experience was a bit of a let down. We stayed for one night on Oct 31, on a fairly wet and cool night, and the heat was not turned on throughout the building. We were not informed of this when we checked in and it took us calling reception to learn of this information. We were offered a space heater for our stay, but it would have been nice to be given a heads up. We also booked a king size room and were placed in a room with a queen size bed. By the time we recognized the error we had already moved all of our belongings from the car and did not want to change rooms. Again, it took us noticing the error and bringing it up to stay to have it recognized. We were fortunately waived the resort fee, which was decent compensation.

What a stay! Atmosphere, location and staff was amazing! The manager (wish i got his name) was so accommodating. We ran into a little snag in our room with the air not working, we called front desk and he immediately came up to the room to check. He assessed and knew right away we needed another room. He quickly found us one (an upgrade for sure) and without a question moved us. The bed was so comfortable, amenities were cheery on top. We will definitely be staying here again.

Property was decent a bit dated. Bathrooms were fairly small. I’m gonna believe since they have laminate floors because of all the pets you can hear the room above you with any move they make but other than that it was a decent stay. I will, of course, try another pineapple stay in another city in the future.
