"It was lovely to wake each morning to birdsong and pastoral views. Perfect for people like us who don't crave crowds. We were close enough to beaches, botanical gardens, farmers markets, historical sights, and amenities that we could easily have our fill of adventures and yet still have a quiet oasis to retreat to. We felt instantly at home! When our home fins didn't fit into our carry on luggage, we prepared ourselves to rent and return fins somewhere on the Big Island. It was a happy surprise to discover that fins and other gear were waiting for us in the storage bin out the back door. And the shelves of books was another delight! There were books for both leisure reading and for learning about learning about Hawaii. It was wonderful to dive into the Hawaiian books to debrief after each day and to tune into the next day's possibilities. As other people have mentioned, the kitchen does not contain a full range, but we found all that we needed and more. And it is easy to see why the place is so comfortable and peaceful; Catrinka is a wonderful host. Always ready and responsive, but never intrusive. For us, it was the perfect place to be! "We loved this place! Perfect setup for us as a family of four and exactly as advertised. Marc was a very helpful friendly owner who went above and beyond a couple times during our stay. Loved the location in particular, super chill and quiet, beautiful property with amazing views. We liked that it was a bit away from the resorts and busier area, but still close that we didn’t feel isolated. Would definitely stay here again "

"Everything was as indicated in listing but being there was even better. Amazing location amazing property original FLW furnishings but complimented with the luxury an original FLW home lacked. The master bedroom and bath were roomy and dreamy. The whole house is tastefully appointed. Room for each of the four of us to spread out and be comfortable. We went in mid December and temperatures were perfect. Of our five days there, we loved touring the island and a successful whale watching trip but agreed our favorite days and nights were just laying around the house and star gazing under the dark skies. Just minutes from Waimea where we found excellent dining and friendly locals. A tropical paradise fit for a king and/queen. Mahalo! #bucketlist"

"Waimea is my favorite Big Island location. This house was actually bigger than I thought. It has two bed rooms and a loft that also has a bed. Everything worked and it was very comfortable and quiet. Only thing that would have made a 5 would be new mattresses."
