BENTOTA
Bentota Beach is the most popular beach vacation destination on the island.

TURTLE CONSERVATION PROJECT
Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.

SPICE GARDEN
Visit a spice garden at Bentota where spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication are grown The spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early seafaring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise.

GANGATILAKA TEMPLE KALUTARA
Kalutara is historically important due to the fact that it was one of the 32 places indicated by Arahant Mahinda Thera to the king Devananpiya Tissa in the 2nd century B.C. as a place where one of the thirty-two saplings of the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura was planted, to which the King extended his patronage.

MADU RIVER SAFARI (Optional)
In the global context, the ecological importance of this site has garnered it the ‘Ramsar Wetland’ status in 2003, being the second largest wetland in Sri Lanka with a colossal 915 hectares and 23 islands inhabited by nearly 300 families.

CITY OF GALLE
Galle is one of the ancient sea ports of Sri Lanka and was an anchor point in the Silk Route. It was later discovered by the Portuguese, where they built a fortress and the Dutch that succeeded them fortified it further. This fortress is today a World Heritage Site.

GALLE FORTRESS
The fort has a colourful history, and today it has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population. The heritage value of the fort has been recognised by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv for its unique exposition of “an urban ensemble that illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

HIKKADUWA
Hikkaduwa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in southern Sri Lanka. It is 98 kilometres south of Colombo and its beautiful beaches add a lot of glamour to this town.

SURFING IN HIKKADUWA
These days, it's rare to see an empty wave set in Hikkaduwa. Out of all the surf towns south of Colombo, this one is among the most advanced. It's understandable why. It's got breaks for every skill level and a reputation for being a bit of a party town as well.

The best wave in the area is Benny's. It periodically becomes hollow, can withstand larger surges up to 10 feet, and has open sides that can be carved with twists from bottom to top. Additionally, there's the beach break at Narigama, which is known as a learner's paradise and is comparable to Kuta in Bali, Sri Lanka.
