What you can expect

Admission to Glengoyne and Deanston Distillery is included in tour price.

Venture to the edge of the Highlands and sip your way through the Scottish countryside. This full-day tour combines insight into the distilling process of the nation’s favorite spirit—whisky—with an element of history and architecture for a total immersion into rich Scottish culture.

Set out from Edinburgh, pass over to the Forth Road Bridge, and head past the striking city of Stirling. Drive by the Campsie Fells and enjoy passing views of verdant, mountainous landscapes as your hear stories about Scottish heritage from your knowledgeable guide.

Your first stop is at Glengoyne Distillery*, which has been producing Highland single malt whisky matured in the Lowlands since 1833. Set in a scenic location below the rugged hills of Dumgoyne, this is the perfect place to embark on a guided tour to learn about distilling and sample Scotland’s favorite spirit straight from the cask.

Journey through Trossach National Park and arrive on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond—the largest freshwater expanse in Scotland. Enjoy some free time here to try the national dish of haggis at a local pub if you’d like, sample some local ales, or take a stroll along the lakefront.

At Deanston Distillery—one of the most sustainable in the country— participate in a guided tour. Discover the building’s former life as a cotton mill and learn about the water-powered, eco-friendly distilling processes. Enjoy the opportunity to savor the naturally developed flavors of the Deanston range.

*Please note that Glengoyne Distillery will be observing their 'Silent Season' between 25th June and 1st August 2025, during this time you'll not be able to see the production site. You'll still see the historic grounds, the old cooperage, No 1 Warehouse and do whisky tasting.

Our guide, Douglas, was fantastic. He's a very smart guy and really knew his stuff. The tour was planned well too. My only complaint was that there was 7 people on our tour that weren't supposed to be there. They missed their earlier tour that was just supposed to be lochs and wilderness, but when they showed up late, Rabbies stuck them on our tour, a whiskey tasting tour. It was obvious that they didn't really want to be there, and they took the best 7 seats in the van, leaving the ones that were originally booked for this exact tour to squeeze into the crappy seats. They would talk over Douglas and were just all around rude. Without them it would have been only 7 people who were looking forward to tasting whisky and would earn 5 stars. Douglas handled it well though, so it didnt completely ruin the trip.
