What you can expect

Stroll through gorgeous gardens outside ornate English manors on this fanciful day tour. Wander through Blenheim Palace and the enchanting villages of the Cotswolds and Bampton, where scenes from the popular show Downton Abbey have been filmed.

Your journey begins with convenient pickup from central London and transportation to the countryside aboard a comfortable bus. Arrive at the Blenheim Palace, an enormous mansion of extraordinary English Baroque architecture and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Follow your guide through stunning state rooms bursting with lovely paintings and colorful tapestries before heading out to the green gardens, set on more than 1,860 acres (750 ha) of manicured land.

Next, head to the Cotswolds, an area of attractive small towns, including Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the “Little Venice” of the Cotswolds, under shade-giving trees and over arched bridges.

Finally, explore the village of Bampton, where many scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed. Here you can see the church where a number of Downton events were hosted, the Churchgate House, which was used as the Crawley family home, and the old Grammar School that served as the Downton Cottage Hospital. The street is also the home to 2 local pubs, where you can stop in for a pint before heading back to London.
