What you can expect

Go off the grid for a night under the vast, star-studded Alaskan night sky, savoring a hearty country dinner in a remote yurt. After dessert, stay in the cozy yurt or step outdoors to watch the flickering neon hues of the breathtaking Northern Lights.

Your nighttime adventure begins around 10 PM, when you're picked up in Fairbanks for the ride out to an off-the-grid wilderness yurt, the perfect location for viewing the aurora free of any urban light pollution. Settle into the warm yurt for a filling dinner, and chat with your guide about life in Alaska as you dine.

The Northern Lights don't operate on a set schedule, so a variety of entertainment is organized for while you wait. Once the lights start dancing, you can stay inside to watch from the warmth of the yurt or venture to the outdoor viewing area to see this spectacular natural phenomenon in all its surreal, unobstructed majesty.

Sample dinner menu includes:

  • Cheese and sausage with crackers
  • Alaskan appetizer
  • Fresh green salad
  • Alaskan Fare or Pasta with pesto
  • Bread and homemade jam
  • Dessert with ice cream
