Where to stay
About Coachella 2020
Coachella has been rescheduled and will now take place on October 9-11 and October 16-18, 2020.
Where is Coachella held?
The wildly popular Coachella is situated in sun-kissed Coachella Valley at the Empire Polo Club, located at 81800 51st Ave, Indio, California. Palm Springs International Airport is just 40 minutes away from the festival grounds; however, this local airport is not an official shuttle stop, so you’ll need to hail a cab or rideshare to your hotel. Flying in or out of LAX? Los Angeles International Airport is a 3-hour drive away, but it is on the official shuttle line. Purchase the LAX shuttle pass in advance via Coachella.
To make room for the thousands of attendees, the 2020 festival takes place over two weekends: October 9-11 and October 16-18. Pick which weekend works best for you — the lineups are identical!
When was the first Coachella festival?
The first official festival was held in Coachella Valley on October 9-10, 1999. Beck, Tool and Rage Against the Machine were the headliners, and almost 40,000 people descended upon the California desert to attend. Nowadays, the annual festival hosts more than 100,000 people per day! And there’s more than just music: Giant interactive art installations dot the landscape, and people can ride the ride famous Coachella Ferris Wheel to get some epic views.
