We stayed at this hotel as a stopover going and coming back from vacation. The staff is excellent: friendly and efficient. The room was great. One small complaint is that the bathtub could’ve been a bit cleaner.

The hotel is old and furnitures are kind of vintage but clean. Restaurants are nearby and Costco is just across the street. The Richmond night market is about 3 blocks away but missed to go there because it was rainy and so it’s closed. Train station is walkable. Bus stops is a block away. No specific negative comments.

Cleanliness definitely will get 0 star if there’s a zero star rating. It seems like the room don’t get clean and sanitize properly every time someone move out. They moved me to 2nd room because the first room had really really bad sweat odor. I had to spray my own perfume so I can try to sleep. 2nd room is also have bad odor but it’s not as bad as the first one but the bathroom shower curtain smell really really bad. I’m sure that curtain hasn’t been replaced for quite awhile. Then the water temperature can suddenly turn into really really hot water. Its almost burn my scalp when I took shower. I jumped out the tub to save myself. It happens few times when I shower. On the last night I stayed I decided not to take shower because I’m afraid it’ll burn my face. Elevator I can see clearly that it never gets maintenance or inspected properly because there’s no record that stick inside the elevator like any other elevator I see regularly. I have pics to proof how dirty the room linens are. It is so nasty. The manager try to make it right but it doesn’t matter if the management is too cheap to spend on how properly clean and sanitize the room. The day I checked in, I literally came down from the room to front desk covering my nose and asked front desk if they have room spray or air freshener and he just brushed me off like my request is out of this world. How can a hotel don’t have air fresheners? I put all these complaints on email and send it to hotel manager.

Water supply of the bathroom is bad. Water suddenly became very hot. The renovation of the room was very old. Breakfast was also quite bad that there wasn't many choices to choose from. There are even no eggs and other hot food which normally appear in normal western breakfast
