Very old pub with lots of history. Brand new ensuite in the queen bedroom. No ceiling or pedestal fan in the room, and no flyscreen to open window unfortunately. Great dinner. Lovely old original historical decor.

The room had an internal window and was rather small. Two single beds were what we asked for. The room wes very dated, but the hotel Is very old and alot of the original features are still there. They had put a new bathroom in. We ate in the dining room and had a very tasty meal.

The best old hotel we have stayed in. Grand old hotel in mint condition. We could only stay one night due to our time table but would have liked a longer stay. Highly recommend.

Some reviews made me apprehensive. Our stay was great. Room spotless and quiet, en suite more than adequate, water pressure fabulous!!! Dinner menu more than adequate - apparently new cook/chef? Continental breakfast fine. All staff delightful. Would definitely stay again. Excellent value for the very reasonable tariff.

One cannot control the other guests who chose to talk in the corridor outside my bedroom. my self contained room was next door to the 4 shared bathrooms. So next time , I will ask for a room away from the shared bathrooms. The self serve continental breakfast was plentiful.

Empire well done.

Very well appointed. Management excellent and dinner was best we have had to date in Tasmania. As teak to die for and lamb cutlets, the BEST. History of this hotel quite amazing. Very well done to all.
