Uninhabitable per host
The host was unreachable for the entirety of the booking. Not once were we able to initiate contact with the host directly. Everytime we reached out, we were ignored until we had VRBO associates call the host and direct the host to contact us. This pattern continued until the day of our checkin. The morning of our checkin, we had still not received our checkin instructions and could not get a response from the host. We contacted VRBO and they called the host directly. The host informed VRBO they would be calling us within 2 minutes. The VRBO agent stayed on the line waiting for the host to call. The host did not call so the VRBO agent phoned the host again and directed them to send checkin instructions. The host assured the VRBO agent that they would do so immediately. True to form, the host never contacted us with checkin information. However, at 2pm on the day of our arrival, the host sent a text informing us the property was uninhabitable and they were cancelling our booking. We were forced to book an alternate property with zero notice. VRBO was helpful throughout the process and refunded the original booking, as well as covered the difference in rates due to the last minute booking. This negative review is for this host only. It does not reflect our experience with VRBO.
