It was clean. The staff was pleasant. There was an unlocked room across the hallway from us.. it had the lock in the doorway. So it looked like it was being cleaned or something? It was a very noisy room. The door was never closed shut either for most of our stay.

Great stay
Great location. The hotel could use more front desk staff during high season. Amenities were okay. Beach chairs and umbrellas should be free or at least cheaper considering the price of the rooms. The no smoking policy anywhere on the grounds is typical nowadays, but BS; you should at least get a view other than the parking lot. The valet staff gets five stars.

My wife and I had a good stay at Royal Lahaina over the Christmas holidays. We enjoyed the location - walking distance from other resorts and restaurants and shops at the Whalers Village, while still somewhat secluded. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach (a one minute walk from our bungalow) and closeness to the pool. As bicyclists we enjoyed the fact that this was on the West Maui Loop. Staff was friendly, room was clean, bed was firm. The one downside was that the restaurant was slow at times. This was not luxurious, but worked well for our purposes. We'll likely come back.

Not the best experience overall but it was good. Way too overpriced. The daily breakfast buffet was the highlight of the experience. The area is safe and they have a on-site Luau. I had the top floor view of the ocean so it made it better.

Had a good experience at the Royal Lahaina. From the pools to the beach access to the ice cream shop, our family had a nice relaxing time.
