Disappointing Stay: False Advertising and Poor Conditions
I booked this VRBO with the expectation of a comfortable and clean space for my adult children that were displaced from medical school in Georgia due to Hurricane Helene. Unfortunately, the experience was far from ideal.
Upon arrival, I encountered immediate difficulties. I had not received the necessary code to access the property, despite checking all my emails, including spam. It took over an hour to contact the host and obtain the code.
The property itself was a significant disappointment. The listing advertised a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit, but the second "bathroom" was only a half-bathroom. The photos were misleading, as the furniture was outdated and worn, not at all as depicted. The entire place felt poorly maintained, with outdated flooring, poor paint quality, and an overall sense of neglect including a moldy type smell coming from the HVAC system.
Given the circumstances and the state of the property, I felt compelled to leave immediately. I refused to stay in such subpar conditions, especially considering the purpose of the booking.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience and would strongly advise others to avoid this property. The false advertising and poor conditions make it an unacceptable choice for travelers. As a rental property owner, I would never allow my property to be sold in such conditions!
