It was a charming place but too expensive for the amenities offered. The food was good but expensive. The free breakfast was fair - no hot food at all, just fruit, pastries and yogurt. A microwave or refrigerator was not in the room. Parking was terrible over the weekend. There were no places designated for people staying at the hotel. I will not stay there again.

Gorgeous castle-like exterior; comfy stay
The hotel is elegantly beautiful from the hardwood throughout, the extravagant dining room, and the cozy lounging areas. I love the castle-like exterior, too. The only issue we had was the noise level before 10 PM. There was a wedding on site with the reception in the party room one floor below ours. The music carried loudly into our space. There was absolutely NO SLEEPING until they were done. Fortunately, the event ended at 10 PM. I would recommend checking with the hotel if an event is scheduled before booking this hotel. The charming town of Granville had a lot to offer from breweries, an adorable cidery with cozy outdoor garden seating, artsy stores, and restaurants scattered throughout...all within walking distance of this hotel. This is a must-visit city! Oh, and there's a quaint winery just outside of town.
