Great budget hotel
Was given a room in a newly constructed part of the hotel which had all new furniture and was very comfortable. Nice and quiet as it was away from the main pool area. Would definitely stay again.

Be prepared to pay for extras on arrival, a 50 euro breakage deposit, Wi Fi & Air Con. these are not included in the price. Also if u loose your key u have to pay 80 euros for a new one. Stay somewhere else!

What can i say....this hotel saved our holiday in zante after a horrendous first day in the "5star" hotel Cavo Orient Hotel!! The Mariana hotel made our stay fun and relaxing. Hotel staff were great and very helpful during our stay. Would definitely come back. Thanks to Pete and Naomi for your hospitality.

Money making scam
Do not stay in Hotel Mariana, Laganas. Greeted by the two rudest and non approachable members of staff I have ever encountered, not sure how they acquired a job working in the service sector. I travelled with 3 other friends and we were all immediately required to provide a €50 euro breakage deposit, each, despite the website being unclear of this policy; it states just €50. Disgusting. As soon as we arrived at he hotel an eighth of our spending money had been given to Hotel Mariana which was returned at the end of the holiday; what is the use of being reimbursed €50 each at the end of the holiday? Moreover, the hotel owners, two males, were completely hostile upon arrival and clearly had no intention to make our stay as enjoyable as possible! Abruptly being told that I wasn’t allowed my own bottle of water beside the pool in almost 30 degrees heat? Outrageous. All refreshements and food had to be purchased from the hotel bar, whom charged €2 for one bottle of water; I suppose we could have afforded to buy one bottle of water per day if we were not obligated to pay €50 each upfront for no valid reason. Expedia states on their website that Hotel Mariana has wifi - perfect! But, of course, the money orientated hotel required guests to purchase an item from the bar in exchange for the wifi password. Upon recieving the password, one of the male owners voices a sarcastic, arrogant comment ‘I can’t even get on the wifi’ - at least the staff at Hotel Mariana are professional.

Awful!
Please do not go to this hotel, id rather sleep on the beds at the beach then spend it here again. The staff was rude, expecially the Australian owner who pretends to be head of security. You cant drink in the room, you cant let anyone into the room unless theyve paid to stay, theres no reception so if you arrive at 5am like we did and expect to be accomodated for think again. Your in the lobby. The litter is diabolical, im suprised the plague hasnt hit that hotel hard. Please stay away

Worst hotel ever!
Mark my words. DO NOT STAY HERE! They penny-pinch you for everything! 7euro per night for air conditioning. 35euro per person/per week.. which barely even works! They don't give you the password, they type it in themselves so when it doesn't connect, you have to go to the bar area for them to type it in again! The managers and workers hang out by the bar playing on their phones and laptops in casual clothes. The place is very noisy!!!! Children are constantly screaming past midnight. You can hear loud drunks everywhere. There was a gieco crawling on the walls. And the room wrenched of a really old building. Do not waste your money Bc the manager, peter will not cooperate with you. He does not care if you leave Bc he already got paid. Horrible service. Horrible property. This is more like a MOTEL not hotel.

Do not stay here
Owners are very rude, we had problems with our air conditioner and the exact words were "you get what you pay for" from the owner. Rooms look absolutely nothing like the images. Just imagine all the room furniture without decorations or ornaments. It's very plain. You are charged extra for air con. Upon arrival they will take 50€ from you as a damage deposit due to the type of customers they get (this hotel is just on the end of the clubbing strip so lots of young people getting drunk and partying throughout the night). Do not book this hotel if you wish to bring children, nude women images posted all over the bar. Pool is filthy. Breakfast is not cooked, you'll be lucky if they even microwave the bacon. The Wi-Fi is not free. You must buy a drink to get the Wi-Fi password everyday as they change the password daily. Do not recommend this hotel whatsoever.

Crap hotel
We stayed here for 5 nights. Had to pay €50 upfront each incase we damaged the rooms. There was no staff on the front desk to check us in, another guest advised us we have to go over the bar grab a member of staff to check us in. There is about 3 members of staff and there is no one manning the front desk so there is no one to ask questions or if you needed help you had to literallygo looking. Towels where not replaced you get one towel each. Tv air and air con and wifi you have to pay for! You only get wifi if you buy a drink at the hotel and you do not get a code they enter it in manually and it only lasts for a few hours! So every day you would ideally have to buy a drink to renew the wifi code! The island was beautiful and luckily we were out every day so didn't spend to much time in the hotel but definitely would NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN! Also the staff try and ban you from buying food and drink to put in your room which is ridiculous ! They have signs in the room advising you not to do this unless It's purchased from their small crusty bar! Me and my friend are young and 20 years old we didn't go to party we explored different parts of the island and I felt so small and used in this hotel! Would not stay there is no customer service and I feel like we were ripped of by staying in this hotel!the balcony was nice that's about it and the pool.

the hotel is in a great spot just the right distance from main strip the pool was great the staff. were very pleasant my first two weeks my room was perfect not much noise the third week. was crazy did not get great sleep young people up right through night every night till 6-8 in. morning banging doors shouting being sick in hallway laganas strip is just crazy really only. for 18-20 groups

There is not wifi in the room, and the wifi at the reception it useless, and they won't give you the web password unless you buy something at the bar everyday (it changes everyday). The pool is nice, but needs a bit more cleaning. This is meant for party animals but the staff has had a difficult time and does not trust the kids that stay there - understandable for some of the fools. The hotel is lovely, it could be an amazing place. The entire strip is crazy at night - lots of partying and drinking, not a family place. At night the partying starts in the rooms - if you want to sleep bring ear plugs. They were blaring music and partying all night. The staff did make the loudest music stop at midnight when I asked. It says air conditioning in the hotels.ca add - but they want to charge you 7 euros a night for it. They have ceiling fans that do not work. I was told that the air conditioning doesn't work very well anyway. They have a list in the rooms telling you how much everything in the room costs if you break it. In fact they will delay your exit so that they can check your room before you leave. Also they expect 50 euros in cash per person as a deposit that they will give back at the end - if you don't break anything. The beds are hard, and we didn't get the room that we booked.

Perfect for girls holiday!
2 of us went out recently for a girls week away and were just looking for something really cheap near the beach/town, and were so happy with how nice the hotel is despite the great price. You do get what you pay for and do expect to have a few extra charges for things like aircon/food (although we were happy without both!). Otherwise its a really lovely place to stay with all the other guests being students like us looking for a week away, and only a 5 min walk from the strip and 10 from the beach, both of which are at the end of the road.

The worst hotel ever!!! Do NOT ruin your holiday!
I had booked this hotel before reading all the terrible reviews about it! I hoped that people had exaggerated as I am very easy to please!.... unfortunately this was not the case! 1. The first room we had was so old fashioned, filled with creepy crawlies, smudged insect marks on the walls, smelt mouldy. The bathroom was so outdated, it took 10-15 minuted for hot water to heat up ( I learnt a method to run the tap and the shower at the same time heats the water quicker). The room was stuffy and I woke up with a blocked nose every morning! 2. We was greeted by a nice lady who told us all the hotel rules and one in particular was guests had overnight visitors they would be charged 10euros! Don't agree with it but that's fine. One night in put stay we stayed at a secluded villa and returned the following night with the help of my brother, who was rudely and aggressively greeted by hotel owners insisting that he's trespassing and shouting at the height of their voices which also disturbed other guests. As well as that they physically pushed him as he tried to make them understand that he's helping us over our suitcases back in. The hotel owner even ripped off my suitcase tag to try to verify ownership! At the end of the day, their responsibilities are to ensure their hotel facilities are running functually not about any family members I have visiting me that are not causing a disturbance to any other guests. 3. The cleaners tried to steal 3 pairs of footwear from my roommate!

Much better than expected!
Stayed here for a week 28th-5th of July 2015, at first we were nervous of some of the bad reviews but we were suprised at how good the hotel was! Staff were lovely and the facilities were good! Would definitely recommend, perfect for girls holiday!

Great staff
The owners and staff were lovely. I needed wifi as I was away working and they let me stay around the bar for many hours to get signal. Very clean rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, very clean, good location
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very clean and the pool area is lovely. As long as nothing is damaged, the managers are really nice. It is a great location just about a 5 min walk from the beach- almost on the strip but not right on it so you can get a pretty decent sleep! Perfect for a girls holiday!

Nice hotel 10mins from centre of main strip
Stayed in early June so hotel was not yet in fully party season. Room was reasonable for the rate we paid and you can add on extras like a safe and air con but we did not need either. Hotel is a 10min walk from the main strip and off the main road which means you don't get noise from traffic and clubs. The guys Pete and John have a brilliant attitude providing you are respectful of there rules. Would defiantly to come and stay again.
