You could also take a scenic drive along Highway 101 and witness dramatic cliffs, abundant sea life, and other coastal towns both north and south. Only a half mile away is McKinley's Marina, where you can rent crab rings or a boat for a fun day of crabbing - drop your traps right from the Port of Alsea for free! You could also rent fishing poles and go salmon fishing, or even launch your own kayak or canoe from the boat dock and explore the Alsea River Water Trail, home to nesting waterfowl, harbor seals, and even bald eagles.

On sunny days, use the large yard to play a fun game of capture the flag while grilling steaks on the gas grill. Snuggle with your group on plush couches in the living room during cool nights. When it comes time for a meal, head into the well-equipped kitchen, where you'll be greeted with modern stainless steel appliances that will make it easy to whip up a fantastic seafood feast for your whole group. Plus, there's ample counter space to put out all ingredients and even serve hors d'oeuvres while you cook. Meals are meant to be shared, and you'll find plenty of room to eat with your group at the dining table. You could also dine alfresco on the deck when the weather permits.

After eating, head outside to play catch. There's even bay beach access just beyond the backyard, and not much farther lives a resident colony of harbor seals that can be easily seen from the deck.

Great house
This house was great to stay at: bayfront access from the property, well stocked kitchen, nice hot tub, comfortable beds, etc. There are just a few things that would make it a 5/5, instead of a 4/5: the yard could really use some work. There were lots of weeds, and the fence is missing boards in quite a few places. My dog kept leaving the yard and even went over to the next door neighbors as he fit through the broken slats in the fence. I realize replacing the whole fence is expensive, but just replacing the missing boards would greatly help.

Great location for our stay!
We were happy with our experience. The interior of the house was clean, but there were a lot of cobwebs around all of the windows, door, lights, etc which is a little off putting. Also the lawn was in desperate need of being mowed. The back deck could use some work. Some places are uneven with boards that move which could be a safety issue. Just a couple of easy things to improve the experience. The house is older but has had some updates. It was clean and comfortable with a great location. Very close to places to eat and the grocery store. The girls also loved the beach and playing in the river/bay. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would be happy to stay again.

Christmas in Waldport
Found the house to be as advertised and shown in photos. Despite being an older house, it had a well-appointed kitchen/appliances with everything needed to cook on your own. Beds very nice with plenty of linens available. Very nice view of Waldport bridge from front room and deck though winter weather kept us off the deck except for use of hot tub which was relaxing. 3 minute walk to beach on mouth of the river--great fun for people and dog alike. Wifi and Direct TV was excellent.

Clean and great location for crabbers!
Very clean and well-stocked kitchen. Close to Port of Alsea docks so perfect location for crabbers. Backyard has a short trail to the river beach which was perfect for our dog. King bed in master bedroom was very comfortable. TV in living room only has a movie channel… 3 remotes with no instructions so we had to call for help and found out they only had a movie channel. Wanted to watch a college football game but could only get it on the TV in the master bedroom. Suggest the owners upgrade the second bed from a full to a queen at some point. Also suggest the furniture in the living room be arranged so the sofa faces the view of the Waldport Bridge. We had a lovely stay and will definitely consider returning.

mostly good!
There were a couple of things we want you to be aware of. The front door was very hard to open, had to work at it awhile. Also, we couldn't figure out how to get tv in the living room until last day, realized you have to point the remote to the box across the room! The queen bed wasn't very comforable, but others were great! But, we did enjoy our stay!

Best week at the Bay Bridge Home!
The location may not be on the ocean but the sandy beach a 1 min walk from the deck is private and peaceful. The view of the bridge during the day is great and fabulous with the lights at night. Hot Tub a huge plus! Great Kitchen! We will be back! We LOVED it! An additional chair for the living room would be nice!

Perfect for a multi-generational group
Wonderful for our family group. We enjoyed having a big room and deck for the toddlers to play (all the kids books and puzzles were a bonus), easy access to a quiet bayside beach right behind the house, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, easy walk to the fabulous Pacific Sourdough Bakery (be warned, it’s only open Thurs-Sat 10-3.)

Great Place
This is a great place on the bay with great views of the bridge and water. And a short walk to docks, water, grocery store, and restaurants. It's in a super quiet neighborhood so it's very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay. While it's a nice place on the bay, it's no beachfront home, but it's a great value considering that.

Tranquil and spacious
The house feels a bit dated, especially the kitchen, with lots of dark wood and wood-grained Formica. But it is spacious, very clean, well-maintained, and with a tranquil, attractive location. The deck and hot tub facing the Alsea River Estuary and bridge are also very nice. I would happily stay here again!

Enjoyed our stay!
Great for a low-key relaxing vacation. Just 2 minutes to the Bay to walk or go clamming. Just a few minutes more to the Port area for crabbing or a casual meal at the Salty Dawg, Azul, or Alsea Bay Crab Co. Lots of beach areas just a quick drive away. Well-stocked kitchen - all the pots, pans, appliances, crab crackers/pickers, towels, glasses, and dishes you could want, and plenty of spices. Bring your own olive oil, or a grocery is just a few minutes away. Recommend bringing your own outdoor seating if you want to relax on the patio - there were 4 older patio chairs available but they all have metal frames that are rusty. There are nearby hardware/dollar stores to pick some up at if needed. If you are thinking of bringing a dog, the fence doesn't fully enclose the yard and the slats are pretty loose - there were a number of cats and a dog that wandered through and hung out in the backyard - and there is a dog or two next door that sometimes hangs out in its own yard and likes to bark.

Great view & convenient beach access. House had a few small issues but nothing very significant.
We had a great time. Enjoyed the beach and the view from the back deck very much. There were only a few issues with the house but nothing all that significant. The screen door on the slider kept popping off the track and one of the bedroom windows didn't have a screen. Also there was sand in the hot tub when we got there. Otherwise the house was very clean and worked just fine for us!

Not to shabby
This was a very nice place. Lots of room and close access to the ocean. Even have a nice private beach in the back yard. There was a lot of spiders which was annoying I think they were coming from the fireplace.. and had a weird musky spell but was over all a nice stay. Lots of towels/extra pillows and blankets. For the price, I’d stay again.

Very roomy. Well stocked kitchen for meals. Nice hot tub but not all of the Jets work. Clean home and bedding old comforters.Dog friendly with a nice short walk to the Bay. Disappointed that the fence was broken and falling down. So no off leash time that was needed in a strange place. Over all the home was comfortable and roomy.

Great property
Property delivered. View from the back deck and from the hot tub was great! Neighbors aren't too close. Master bedroom comforter smelled musty, like it wasn't fully dry when put back on the bed. Hot tub temp was at 80 degrees when we arrived, which was too cold for my liking. We had to crank the temp up and took about an hour and half - two hours to warm up. It wasnt a huge issue because arrived and had dinner then hopped in afterwards. Wasnt really a "trail" to the beach, but wasnt so overgrown that you couldnt make it out there without a problem. Noticed some of the dishes were dusty and some even dirty. Outside of those few minor issues, it was worth the money and very much enjoyed the stay and would go back!
