Lodge in The Woods, Nelson

Come and get away from it all in the West Kootenays. This is a mountain Lodge just minutes away from the eclectic town of Nelson, which is full of restaurants, arts, culture and nightlife. It’s an ideal place for you and your family to unwind or work remotely; with high speed internet, large windows providing plentiful light, and spectacular views of majestic forests, snow capped mountains and Kootenay Lake.

This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home on a private 15 acre retreat with soaring trees, bubbling creeks, a 60’ waterfall and access to a secluded beach.

Two upstairs bedrooms have queen-sized beds and carefully selected furnishings. The third upstairs bedroom features 2 double beds and a single bed that can also be used as a relaxing day bed. It is perfect for children or multiple couples. The forth bedroom is located on the main floor so it is an excellent option for those with mobility issues. It contains a queen bed, toy chest and a play nook for children (or those young at heart). This room sets the stage for wonderful sleep as this dark space has no windows to let in daylight. Each bedroom has crisp white sheets, cozy throw pillows and has been designed to facilitate deep mountain rest.

The third bedroom also contains a large desk and office chair in front of a sun filled picture window. It’s a stunning place to get a little work done!

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required for a quiet dinner at home. A large farm style dining room table allows for joyous family meals.

The free standing claw foot tub in the upper floor bathroom is a wonderful way to soak off a long day adventuring in the mountains. This room also features a shower. The second bathroom, which in on the main floor, contains a shower. Laundry facilities (washer/dryer) are also available on the main floor.

We are grateful to have high speed internet powered by satellite and we make every effort to ensure you have an uninterrupted WiFi connection. For your entertainment there is a pool table, dartboard, TV with AppleTV (with Netflix, Disney+ and Prime) and games.

Directly behind the lodge, you can savour your own dedicated outdoor space. A large back yard and fire pit awaits you. It’s perfect for enjoying the picturesque setting anytime of day.

A brand new 7 person hot tub is placed on a on a inspiring purpose build outdoor landing. While soaking your stress away, enjoy views of the mountains, valley and lake. (This amenity is shared with the other dwellings on the property)

We are 15 minutes from the vibrant town of Nelson, BC. This mountain Narnia has a vibrant arts and culture scene, plentiful activities the same amount of restaurants per capita as Manhattan! Come check out Nelson's unique vibe, then escape back to the Woods. We are located west of Nelson on Highway 3A, part of the breathtaking Selkirk Loop.

From the Lodge, you can hear the sound of a nearby creek, meander along the property’s many pathways, and catch an occasional glimpse of roaming elk, deer and even turkeys. A stunning walk through the forest takes you to a secluded beach on the shores of Kootenay Lake. It's simply breathtaking.

Serene Views
6 family members from three generations stayed for 4 nights. Feels spacious and with lots of comfort features. And even though it was some of the hottest days of the summer, the evenings and nights cooled down wonderfully. Serene views and great to sit out at any time just enjoying nature and the mountains.

Summer Stay
We had a great time. Loved the views! Enjoyed the big dining table and the pool table. It was very hot when we were there and fire ban was on. We had the little beach all to ourselves and hanging out in the water was great.

Great Spot to Enjoy Nelson
Enjoyed our time in the lodge. Important to note that the house is not close to the water and has a very steep trail to get to the waterfall and water. This was fine for us, but could be a challenge for anyone with mobility challenges. The waterfall and water a beautiful when you get there though!

The “lodge” was fabulous! Just a bit outside Nelson and perfect spot to stay while exploring the Nelson area. John and Lane were so nice and informative. We took a dip in Kootenay lake from the beach on the property and slept well in comfy beds.

Great place for a group or large family
"The Woods" Lodge is in a lively location just a few minutes outside of Nelson. The beds were clean and comfy, and having a kitchen and BBQ on site saved us a ton of money vs having to go out for meals all the time. We'd definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time here- the lodge was the perfect space for all of us. We were all able to sit down to enjoy our meals at the large table. We really enjoyed our time here. Lots of space for the kids to play and plenty of room for the adults as well. We were worried about no AC in July in Nelson but because of all the big trees it stayed nice and shaded and the house was cool. Great communication with the owners.

Nice property, clean and comfortable, the main floor needs A/C as it was hot since windows are fixed. Would recommend adding a window to the kitchen area as is dark. Not far from Nelson, Access to 'beach' is difficult, not a sandy beach. John was kind and nice. Overalll a nice stay.

It is a beautiful secluded chalet surrounded by nature and lots of things to do in and around the property. The best part is definitely the private beach and owners are super friendly and did their best to accommodate any requests. Would love to go back again.

Beautiful property and house. Host was very accommodating. Online description doesn't really match the actual property, the beach is a longer walk than expected and not easy to get to if you are bringing a cooler and chairs, but the host was great and gave us a ride on his side-by-side and allowed us to drive a truck down close on the walk back up.
