"We had a great time at Basecamp! We love the adventure motel vibe, there is a warm & welcoming common area with a fire & coffee, tea & hot chocolate. Great location, very walkable to the restaurants, shops & cafe in Tahoe City. There's a little slice of Lake Tahoe from the parking lot (the weather was storming so not sure about the view from the top deck). Beds were comfy & rooms were cozy, it's a refurbished motel that's cozy and cute decor. We love these types of adventure motels with common areas so we'll be back! "

"We enjoyed staying at the place so much that we decided to cook in nearly every night. There was everything we needed to make some great meals. Plus, the fireplace made it cozy, the scenery was unmatched anywhere. The skiing was outstanding, AND we did not see any bears - I guess that's a good thing. Thank you for hosting us. LOVED IT!The only challenge we had was communication from the property manager (Tahoe Lakeside Marina) repeatedly came with missing information. For example: "As promised here are the instructions for a smooth check in: (and then nothing there)." We got in OK, but didn't get any instructions in advance, which was a little worrisome."

"We never stay anywhere else. Yes it's pricey,but oh so wonderful. Even with construction going on, it's peaceful and comfortable. When the pool is quiet, take a heavenly swim. Breakfast is fantastic!!"
