We were only in Seattle for one night but our stay at the State Hotel made it a real treat. The hotel itself is gorgeous and looks to be newly renovated. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The artwork and wallpaper throughout the hotel are a nice touch. The restaurant downstairs, Ben Paris is delightful, and a nice spot for dinner or drinks. (Recommend going early if you want to get in on weekend brunch, it’s very busy) The hotel is a block away from Pike Place and within walking distance to DT shopping and attractions. Parking is offsite, about a block away but at less than $30/day seems to be a steal. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, would definitely recommend The State.

The property is updated and the rooms are small but very tastefully appointed. The bathroom is awesome and roomy. We had a 'view' of the building next door, literally, a wall two feet from our window. Fortunately it did let in natural light, however, I will be sure to try for a street view room should I stay there again. The price point is reasonable for the area. Parking is a block and a half away and is reasonable for in-out privileges although we never used the car for our two day stay. If you want to be a block from Pike Place, this is a solid option.

Nice but has hidden fees they don’t tell you about
The hotel is nice and in a great location. It is a little on the pricey side. I didn’t like that they did not tell me about the $25 per night resort fee to utilize things like coffee during select hours or a roof top. It would have been nice to know about this fee and the amenities when I checked in and not the hidden fees as I was checking out. I would not stay here again since the hotel demonstrated deceptive price gouging.

Tiny room but great location
The room was tiny with very little walkway or chairs for comfort watching tv.. The restuarant was pricey but the food was good. Good pedestrian access the the Pike Place Market. Target accross the street. not bad.

What I really liked about The State Hotel was its location for seeing the sites and dining spots. Check-in was a breeze. We arrived late morning and waited about 20 minutes for a room even though official time was 4:00. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful with holding doors and taking our bags to our room. This is an older hotel wishing two short blocks to Pike Market. The rooms were small and there was not a comfortable chair to sit in, but the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was a fair size with a step-in shower. There was an in-room safe and a small place to hang clothes. The television was nice with a good selection of channels. We had a city view room and it was surprisingly quiet. The large window had nice curtains that kept the room dark. Harbor view rooms faced over Pike Market and the harbor and got the afternoon sun. The restaurant attached to the hotel was expensive and we preferred to go out for breakfast every morning. The rooftop terrace had a nice view but it was small. The hotel lacked the tourist information that one would find at a larger hotel but they were still helpful.
