Four nights with little heat
It took forever to persuade the owner to check the heat. This after arriving to some strange things in the apartment—the TP unrolled and stretched across the floor; pillows that looked used. Great location, but be persistent in getting what you need

Disappointing stay in good location
Booked for 4 days to spend time with family in town. Suite had clearly not been cleaned meaningfully since prior guests (food on the ground, leftover coffee, dirty sheets). The unit is not up to code (knee-high railings over stairs, no clear CO detector, furniture in various states of disrepair) and generally feels quite tired. It is in a great location in Fremont, with good access to Woodland Park and local food options. Host was responsive, but often challenging to understand. Upon arrival, gas stovetop had been left on, making the whole apartment unlivable and requiring significant ventilation, which host did not take seriously.

Tired & needs lots of TLC
Property is in need of updating & TLC and a proper cleaning. Fridge had pizza in from prior guest, meaning it wasn't cleaned, counter had coffee stains & debris, dishes looked they may have been rinsed and put away, washed 2 of everything & used those during the stay, no tea towel or wash cloth for kitchen.Kitchen floor hadn't been swept. Washroom wasn't very clean, cleaned ourselves to feel some better while using, shower curtain doesn't looked it had been washed in months, towels are in need of replacement, we washed what we needed to use. Bed linen and pillows are old and need to be replaced. The owner did send someone to clean fridge, counter and floor, didn't do a very good job. The owner said he hadn't been in the unit in 2 years since having a stroke. outside at the front on grass boulevard grass and dirt had been removed down about 6 inches, had to walk through to get to get into the premises, a utility trailer full of junk covered is in this area, I'm sure this hasn't moved in a very long time by the condition and flat tire. great first impression.

Almost perfect, but not quite
There is a lot to love about this place. It's clean and in good condition. It's nicely decorated and has lots of space. The neighborhood is great. Parking is so-so and the wifi was very slow, but the only significant problem we had was that the bed was super uncomfortable. Way too firm for both of us. It was so bad that we checked out the next day and went to a hotel, even though that meant paying double for the rest of our trip.

My daughter's favorite place to stay!
My family stayed in the upper unit for 3 nights in August of 2024. My husband and I had lived in Seattle in the 1990s. We brought our 11 year old daughter to see the city and meet some old friends. She fell in love with the attic room and was genuinely sad when we checked out. We were in the area for a couple of weeks - mostly staying in hotels - so it was nice for all of us to get a little space from each other. We regretted not spending a few more nights here. The kitchen, bath, and attic room are all lovely - but bath and frig could use a closer cleaning. The carpeting in the living room and bedroom needs replacing. Wood, tile, etc floor would feel cleaner. Neighborhood is perfect. We walked to meet friends. Felt very much like we were back living in Seattle. My big concern was not having air conditioning and staying in the upper part of the house. Seattle in August can be hot. As I feared, it was hot during the day while we were there. But the hosts leave plenty of fans and the Pacific NW can cool off nicely at night. We opened the windows and turned on the fans and it was perfect sleeping weather. We lived in other Seattle homes that did not cool off as well as this unit. Hosts were quick to respond to all messages. Check in and out was an absolute breeze. My daughter has made us promise to stay here again on our next visit and we are happy to keep that promise.

We stay in hosted properties often and this was the worst. We've never had a problem, and I think this may be the first time I provide a bad review in the eight years we've been doing it. The communication and treatment from the host was the worst. It all started with me asking, out of courtesy, if we could check in late because our flight was arriving at midnight. Well, the response was incoherent, unwelcoming, and nefarious, so I knew it would be challenging dealing with them. Then the host began harassing me about my party's age requirements and that they they would prematurely cancel our reservation and kick us out when such requirements were never specified in the listing. The host couldn't have been less welcoming. We couldn't even walk up the wooden stairs without the host messaging us during the next day that we were making too much noise, which was a preposterous claim. Again, we've never had a problem with hosted properties. The place was Ok, but is gloomy and resembles a haunted house. I would be surprised if the top of stairs don't violate local/state/OSHA codes as there is no fall protection at the top of them. The apartment was dusty and the linens on the beds smelled like sweat. The apartment appeared to need some TLC in these regards.

Nice Place, Nice Location
Very lovely home with lots of character. The location was very convenient to be away from the bustling parts of the city, yet just a quick bus ride to the downtown attractions. Street parking was always available. Hosts were friendly. Make note there is no air conditioning, so it is very warm being the upstairs suite and unfortunately we were here during a heat wave. The host does provide fans and tips for keeping it as cool as possible. We would definitely stay again, but maybe not during the height of summer.

Weekend in Seattle
The house was actually larger and nicer than I expected. And quiet, which was definitely a plus. Despite appearing like it was in the suburbs, it's actually a short walk from grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants, plus a longer walk to the lake area with more of them. Not sure if we're returning to the area again, but I'd definitely look to see if this apartment was available.

Perfect location
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The owners were easy to communicate with and responsive. Neat, quirky home built in the 1920’s with a view of the mountains from the kitchen on a clear day. Was a great location for getting around and within walking distance to the neat restaurants on Fremont street as well as the zoo and rose garden. Lots of street parking. Know they are working on an outdoor area which would be great for the days that the sun pokes through. Overall great place to stay.

Happy Thanksgiving visit
My husband, adult kid and I had a great visit with our other kid while staying here, and would definitely stay again. We stayed in the upstairs unit which was very nice and which had a variety of possible sleeping arrangements - a bedroom on the main floor, a living room area that included a Murphy bed, and a loft space over the kitchen that could sleep two. It is pretty open plan, and what doors there are that close off spaces are glass, so plan accordingly. Furnishings are modern and comfortable and well chosen for the space. The bathroom is narrow but still has a good sized shower and a small washer/dryer tucked in next to the door. The hosts requested quiet hours from 10 pm to 9 am, and there were no issues with noise while we were there. There are excellent bars, restaurants and a drugstore a short walk away, as well as a nearby market. We weren’t driving so I can’t be very helpful about parking, but there seemed to always be a space nearby when I thought to look. We did have an easy time catching a bus or Lyft to anywhere we wanted to go from this location as we weren’t driving ourselves. So, all in all, it was a great choice for us, and I would recommend it!

Our stay in the upstairs suite
We stayed two weeks in the upstairs suite of this lovely home in Fremont. It is located in a very convenient area with very reasonable rates for the area. The upgraded bathroom and kitchen are very nice. The unit however, could have been cleaner, and we were quite surprised that a number of simple maintenance items had not been addressed prior to our arrival. The upstairs suite requires you to climb 14 narrow steps to enter the unit, and climb an additional 13 narrow steps to enter the loft. We had no trouble negotiating the steps, but something to be noted. If you like to walk, Woodland Park, Woodland Zoo, Green Lake, a local grocery store, and downtown Fremont are easily reached on foot. We rented a car and had no issues finding parking spots on the street. I shared our concerns with the owners, they thanked us for the input, and advised us they plan to address the issues.

BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS
RATING on this place is misleading. It is shockingly dirty and dangerous. Would not have stayed, but arrived near midnight for a family wedding and could not reschedule the wedding events. ENTRY stairs are dirty and covered with cobwebs door lock does NOT have a deadbolt (as stated in the listing) lock mechanism is not fully attached to the entry door MAIN LEVEL BEDROOM bed is very lumpy and sags on one side mattress cover disgustingly stained and dingy headboard (?) is not attached to EITHER the bed OR the wall 2 box fans in this room (the unit does not have AC), both were dirty and 1 was rusty and missing its handle BATHROOM washing machine was dirty/unusable sink seemed to be partially clogged/drained very slowly floor was gross, both with dirt and hair towels were dingy shower curtain was dirty/moldy shower exhaust was so dirty, it looked furry KITCHEN counter was stained and dirty with an unknown substance pooled in the far corner trashcan had used hosiery in the bottom fridge had stuck-on food particles in the door shelves dish drain was gross and crusty with some pinkish substance LIVING ROOM not as pictured in the listing (missing a bed!) pile of random broken things in the corner alcove box fan in this room was unusable small round fan was too dirty to use LOFT AREA bottom 3 stairs to loft have dangerously loose tread trim broken bed frame I'm running out of character count - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

Terrible disappointment
This stay was a terrible disappointment. Here is a short list of everything we encountered: -It was very dirty. The shower curtain was gross, there was hair in the shower and on the towels, the upstairs had clearly not been vacuumed, there were dead bugs left upstairs, there was an ant infestation in the kitchen, and the place had not been dusted in living memory. -It was unsafe. The electrical wiring was clearly done by an amateur, with wires rigged up in various ways, and may have been a fire hazard (there was only a single exit down stairs). -It was falling apart and was very unkempt. The bed slats broke, so the mattress sunk in on one side, there was random crap everywhere (loose screws, light fixture left upside down on the floor with bulbs in it, large glass plate precariously leaned against the wall, a large mirror leaned against wall without being mounted, plugs and wires). Just a mess. We ended up imposing on a local friend to stay with them for the final night of our rental. Don't stay here. It was overpriced and not well managed.
