Very good hotel in a quiet area away from the crowds on the mountains. It snowed when we arrived. It was beautiful in the morning. Front desk lady was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Great hotel for a one night stay.

Booked two rooms at the last minute. Arrived after 8pm, hungry...staff allowed us to order dinner through the onsite restaurant. It was the most expensive dinner we had had thus far during our trip and we only ordered 2 beers, 2 sodas, 2 salads, a dessert and chicken fingers...but we didn't complain b/c we were hungry. There were some language barriers with the staff but overall no complaints. We didn't get a chance to explore the town. Parking was onsite and free and there was a breakfast included.

Great place for the value, close to attractions, great amenities. The restaurant was very good, very competitive pricing, great breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only two issues were that when I checked in, I was not given the Wifi password information and it was not posted anywhere in the room. The other was the lack of parking on the premises. We checked in and left, by the time we got back, the reception desk was closed and there was no more parking. With no one available to assist me with the Wifi information or parking issue. I still managed to squeeze into a spot in front of the entry. However, some older gentleman which I had seen earlier behind the reception desk when I checked out, still felt the need to tell me something in a rude way about where I ended up parking.

Quite small town
A quite place in a small town. The beds are soft and sleepworthy. Hiking trails abound from this town. Famous Triberg is only a few miles away. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice Hotel Overall
The room was clean and there is a good variety of the usual for breakfast (lunchmeats, cheeses, boiled eggs, bread, cereal, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes). We also ate dinner here one night and it was very good, and the waiter who spoke English was friendly. It was a little confusing checking in. Apparently, the entrance on the right side of the building is for the restaurant and the left side is for the guesthouse. Parking was very limited, and I had to run inside one time while my husband was in the car to let them know there were no parking spots left. They let us know we could park across the street – however there was no street parking left either, so we parked in front of a van parked in a chained off driveway that had 4 flat tires and hoped for the best. They were painting the front of the building so there was scaffolding in front of our balcony blocking our view, so we didn’t really sit outside at all. View from the room is normal – nothing particularly special. It’s in a good location – just a short drive to Triberg and the waterfalls. Shower is your typical very small European shower. Wifi worked good.

The property is currently having some external painting done so there was a degree of scaffolding taking away the look of the building. However, the staff were fantastic. Especially the nice German waiter. Very good English and extremely helpful. I would definitely say yes to booking here again. Lovely surroundings - especially the falls (6kms away)

Seemed light on staff. There was only one woman working the check-in counter as well as serving for the restaurant and bar. Not a lot of parking spaces available for the amount of rooms. The rooms were dated and you can tell maintenance issues are likely prevalent. Despite all of that, the staff was nice and very helpful. The rooms worked just fine for us, especially at the price point. I would stay here again if ever in the area.

Pros: Quiet corner of town, very close to Triberg, comfy beds, nice restaurant (open in the evenings only), pet friendly, clean rooms Cons: Slow wifi, breakfast is not good at all (very, very few foods available), lounge downstairs was very noisy for our room

Wonderful weekend getaway!
Such a cute town! We were even able to enjoy some sledding with our kids at a nearby ski lift/hill. Great location and not too far from Triberg and the gorgeous waterfalls, cuckoo clock shopping, and local cafe for black forest cake....a little further down the road we enjoyed glass blowing!
