Food quality was great but service and property need improvement. The beach was great. I would not say it’s a 5 star resort as many things are outdated and room amenities and comfort were not great. I was hot in the evenings as ac was not working well.

Gracias a todo el personal de Grand Bahía Príncipe El Portillo por hacer unas vacaciones únicas . El personal es muy atento. La comida es variada con diferentes buffets , las instalaciones hermosas y una playa única , a todo el personal del buffet de la playa gracias todos muy atentos.Las habitaciones son cómodas aunque ya necesitan algo de mantenimiento. En fin gracias una vez más.Esperamos algún día volver a visitarlos .

I just want to shout out Pablo, one of the waiters by the pool bar who was absolutely amazing! The entire 5 days of my stay he had the same energy, extremely welcoming, and providing excellent service the entire time at the pool everyday. If I come back it would solely be to receive service from him. I want to also shoutout Rafael at the Brazilian restaurant who brought the most amazing energy and service! These workers truly make the experience an unforgettable one! The Brazilian restaurant was amazing as well!

2nd Time Here.
This is the second time coming to this resort. The place is still beautiful and the entertainment is better. However the comfort of the beds and pillows in the room need to improve. The bed was too hard and stiff. The pillows were too hard as well. Every morning I woke up with body aches from the bed. The quality of the food decreased a little this time. Not a lot of variety of good food at the Buffet. Overall the experience be was good. The beach and pool are beautiful.

The transportation on site was great, the men driving the carts were very helpful especially Augustin. The beach is beautiful and the staff very helpful. Rooms were cleaned well every day. We were very disappointed in the food. They advertise 6 restaurants but for 5 night stay you only get to eat dinner twice at the restaurant, 7 nights you get 3 times to eat at the restaurants. Then the rest of the time its all buffet. The buffet is dry, bland and repetitive food. The restaurant food isnt much better, 2 of my kids vomited after eating at the restaurants. Also they should have a bar dedicated to kids, it was difficult to get a drink because kids are always at the bar getting drinks. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable.

We love the resort perfect location, beautiful beaches, the staff was very helpful, moving around the resort Agustín was very nice always happy to help, great job from the entertainment group, food not so good my family got sick from eating from the Italian restaurant, biggest complaint was the food

I’ve been to more than a handful of resorts including others in the Dominican Republic and the hospitality here was not great. When we arrived we were not received with a drinking or anything at all. The people in the front desk were probably some of the only people that were friendly at the resort. To start, they put us in a room that was disgusting, the tub looked like it hadn’t been washed in days and on top of that the air conditioner didn’t work. I reported this about 4 times before they finally switched our rooms. Also, the room phone didn’t work so I had to walk to the lobby every time to report this. The reason for our trip was to celebrate my son and mom’s birthday which they can clearly see on their passports and they did nothing to acknowledge it not even a happy birthday. The entertainment staff needed more energy they were either half asleep or missing. The shows were boring and lacked energy. There was also no one walking around the pool or beach asking if you wanted a drink or anything, you’d have to go to the bar yourself. In the buffet it would take like 20 min for someone to bring you water and another 20 min just to ask what you’d want to drink. All the employees with the exception of a few, did not look like they wanted to be there, no one was excited to see anyone we’d say hello and would be ignored. There were times we’d ask questions and no one would know the answer or give unclear directions. If you’re expecting 5 star service this is not the place.
