Horrible having to check in with a machine and remote person. Poor instructions, printer had to be rebooted. I asked for a room on first floor if no elevator, was given a second floor room. Then I roamed around looking for elevator since no one to ask!

Very nice rooms and lobby. Very weird for Boomers like me to have a kiosk check in. The voice was so loud. No privacy. An older lady traveling alone doesn't want to share her details with the whole lobby. Otherwise great property. Lots of room to walk my dog. OK breakfast. Nearby market and restaurants.

Very impersonable to have you check in and out at a kiosk in the lobby when there are staff around. Also not cool to let a drunk man hang out in the lobby harassing guests as they arrive.

Find a Different Place to Stay
Virtual check in was ok, but not great in the evening (from 11;00-3 AM) when we had VERY noisy neighbors. Called three times to get help with loud party that went on until all hours of the night. No one helped at all. I don't think there was anyone actually on site. Breakfast was a joke. cereal bars and packaged pastries. Check out was also virtual, so there was no live person to talk to about our experience. Really should get some compensation for this visit. Will NOT return to this place. We do not have fancy expectations, but a good night's sleep and a real breakfast (as advertised) should be provided to all who stay here.

The kiosk and no live front desk staff. It did not feel welcoming and required more wait time in the lobby. No elevator or bike racks was not cool since we had bikes.

The room was nicely remodeled. The location is pretty good for going to UC Davis or the Yolo bypass wildlife refuge. However, I would never stay here again. It was very noisy and smelled like smoke. The breakfast was pathetic for what they charge.

Retro Stay in the Mountains
It was awesome. Room service left us a note welcoming us to the hotel. The aesthetic of the hotel had a 1930’s traveler feel. All the amenities were very clean. The beds were comfy. The room was well lit. The only thing I would suggest to anyone reading this, either bring food or be prepared to travel a few extra minutes for food. We got in around 7:30/8 at night, and everything had mostly closed down. A+

Subpar at best.
The virtual check in process is a good idea in theory, but not practiced well. The person on the other end was difficult to understand, connection wasn’t great, and didn’t have all of the info necessary to allow us to figure out where our room was. Didn’t tell us there was a second and third building- which is where our room was. After a long day of traveling, it just would’ve been nice to not have to walk through the entire building (and up the stairs with heavy luggage because there’s no elevator.) before realizing we needed to go somewhere else to get to our room. Hotel was renovated and looked fine until you looked closer- just slapped some low end finishes on things with a poor contractor to look updated. Overall it was fine for 1 night but I wouldn’t stay longer or stay again.
