We came to Villa Cocomar with a group of 28 people to celebrate our wedding. From start to finish, the staff was amazing and accommodated our every need. The food was incredible, the rooms spotless, and the property was gorgeous. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!

It's all true
Everything everyone says in these reviews are 100% true. The place is an oasis. If you are even thinking a little bit about Villa Coco Mar, trust me just book it. Juan the property manager is as advertised. He gets you whatever you need. Juana,the chef is a definite highlight. Like most reviews suggested, just get the meal plan. I cant believe how much food was served to us. Juana's staff is also amazing. 24 hr security had my family of 22 feeling safe and secure. Its like you are in your own world while you are there. If i could double the 5 stars to 10 I would.

Surprise 30th Birthday
Dean the property owner was beyond helpful with any and all questions (which were a lot) I had not only prior to, but also during the trip. Juan, the property manager, handled the many requests we sent his way! The chefs for the property created some of the most delicious food— truly authentic recipes. I even requested for a cake to look like the shape of a beer and it was done without hesitation. Nico, who transported us most everywhere, was always on the ball and arrived on time it not earlier. Every group is different and we chose the all inclusive route for most days we stayed, so be mindful of your group and give a heads up for realistic expectations i.e. amount of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, what kind of food the group wants for meals, or even snacks. Juan was great about finding us a private catamaran last minute for 26 people which included lunch and beverages/ alcohol, it was the best experience! Any maintenance issue we had was fixed asap. Would recommend to anyone to stay at Villa Cocomar!

Wonderful place & experience
The place is wonderful, the pictures don’t do it justice on just how beautiful the place is. Dean (property owner) was very communicative throughout the process of planning our wedding/family vacation. While on-site Juan (on-site manager) made sure we everything ran smoothly and facilitated any and all of our wants and needs. I would 10/10 recommend this place to others. We will be looking to visit again in the future.

Breathtaking and Unforgettable
We went for our daughters 15’s with family and friends. It was an unforgettable experience! They all welcomed us on day one and introduced themselves and offered us snacks and drinks. The rest of the days they treated us like we were their number one priority. Everyone was warm, kind, caring, and very pleasant. They offered us movie nights, bon fire, moved the furniture to accommodate my daughters 15’s party and did it with love. The meals were all delicious including the roast pork that we asked for on our last night. The service was outstanding. The property offers an amazing gym, and aviary to sit and listen to the birds, a outdoor area for the adults and teens to play pool, darts or simply hang out. The beach had rough waves but they offered us boogie boards so we all had a blast with those. They also have a driver that would take us or pick us up where ever we wanted to go to. He was also super funny and very helpful. We also hired a bar tender that made delicious drinks for us. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking to have a wonderful worry free experience. We all had an Amazing time and would love to go back one day. It is a piece of paradise all for yourself!

Magical place with wonderful people
The trip to the DR for 21 of my family members was a year of planning with the owner's help. You will not be disappointed with the accommodations. The Villa has everything that you would need to spend time together with friends and family or to have moments alone. My family loved all the outdoor space. We didn’t spend as much time on the beach since the villa space was so wonderful. Eating every meal outside with the entire group was comfortable and enjoyable. Juana, the chef kept us well feed with fantastic food the entire week. We applauded each night in appreciation. We like others that have visited wanted to bring Juana home with us. It was my intention to have excursions planned for each day with the option for family members to select and choose during the week. Juan the onsite manager assisted throughout the week to arrange and confirm excursions in addition to the transportation. He also provided some moments of calm when plans needed to change. Juan’s goal everyday was for us to have the vacation we wanted. He made it happen. Our new found friend, Nico, drove my family to and from the excursions. Always courteous, thoughtful, and patient. We had teenagers with us and I was thankful he paid special attention to their safety. Others at the villa did as well. Dean the owner dropped by several times and it was delightful to hear about how he has developed the Villa into such an amazing vacation destination. He wants to share the paradise he created.

Slice of Paradise!
Our group of 27 adults stayed at Villa Coco Mar for 5 nights. It was truly an amazing experience and I would recommend this property to anyone! The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. The owner Dean answered all of my questions and the house manager Juan took care of the groups requests when we arrived. The chef prepared delicious meals and the massages were so relaxing! We hosted a 42 person wedding on the property and all the staff and vendors brought in were great! We enjoyed a day trip to Playa Grande and did a catamaran sail with Tip Top Catamaran. It was a trip we will never forget!

Great Vacation
Firstly, let me say that Dean was an absolute rock star in terms of communicating and answering the endless questions that myself and our group of 7 total families had for an entire year leading up to the trip. As you can imagine, coordinating that many different families with different ages of kids and concerns, a handful of dietary restrictions and a few occasions to celebrate was no small feat. He arranged to have several goodies - activities for the kids, floaties, coloring items, goggles for the pool, etc. when we arrived. If you can spring for it, aim for flying into Puerto Plata, but if you have to fly into Santiago (more direct flights from where we were coming from, for a much better price), and you are prone to motion sickness, take dramamine before the shuttle ride. The roads are windy with elevation changes, but if you can stomach it, the scenery is beautiful and the drivers Villa Cocomar partners with are professionals and navigate the roads wonderfully. Juan and Juana were nothing short of exceptional - providing everything we needed, at times with very short notice. Juan was always available to answer our questions, arrange rides into town, or take our grocery or alcohol list. Juana is a FANTASTIC Chef (we may have tried to take her home with us)! All the food was delicious, and she was able to accommodate all of our requests, we definitely miss her cooking now that we're home. Most concerns we had were addressed immediately, and overall, the property is absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic vantage point for the sun rise, and it was a beautiful backdrop for our very casual 10 year anniversary/vow renewal.

Best Anniversary Trip EVER!
From the beginning of the planning process to the moment we left the Villa, we were so well taken care of and relaxed! I wanted to make sure that our 20th Anniversary would be one to remember and it was! So excited we went with this Villa! Rock star staff!! Outstanding Friends Trip
Myself along with 22 other 30+ year old's (mostly couples) visited Villa Coco Mar in August of 2022 and we all were extremely satisfied with everything this property had to offer. The staff were absolutely outstanding. Working with Juan the property manager was an absolute pleasure, and Dean the owner was extremely responsive and always willing to answer all of my questions leading up to the trip. Everything from pickup & transportation, to check in through check out was super simple. Each room at the villa has something special to offer. Meals were always great and super convenient to be able to customize what we wanted. We were able to have a pizza party with their outdoor brick pizza oven, a pig roast, and the staff even set up an amazing bonfire for us one night. Pretty much everyone in our group received (and raved) about the massages. All around just an awesome experience - highly recommend

Family trip 2022 - A SUCCESS
Our family just got back on May 16th and trust me it was hard to leave this beautiful location. From the moment we got there and met the staff, we were in love with the surroundings. The rooms are spacious and very clean. OMG. The beds and pillows are really comfortable. Best night sleep in a while. We had a group of 26 adults and there was so much to do and not be in each others way. Juan and Juana are amazing. The food was outstanding. Miriam has hands of an angel with her massages. Yoga Retreat
If I could give Villa Cocomar a 10 star review I would! Everything was perfect. The grounds, rooms, amenities, were all top notch. Most remarkable was the staff. The staff were friendly, attentive, and fun to work with. As the leader of an international yoga retreat, I want to give a special shout out to Juan (manager) and Dean (owner) who answered every single one of my questions with kindness from the moment I made the reservation to the day we left. Everyone wants to return to Villa Cocomar and we will!

Blew our minds - amazing 50th birthday location
We first made contact with the host well over a year and a half ago pre-COVID. They’ve been incredibly accommodating and our party of 20 adults and 5 kids have a fantastic staff to support all of us. We finally went on our trip in October and it was even better than the pictures or website describe. This place is a once-in-a-lifetime rental. We rode horses on the beach, enjoyed a private bonfire on the beach on our last night. Juana cooked the most incredible food for each meal, tailored to all of our group’s omnivore and vegan preferences. Merian’s massages were incredible. She was extremely professional and about half of the adults took her up for massage. Knowing what I know now, I’d book her time as soon as I arrive, and as much as I could throughout the week after. Incredible! Juan is an incredible property manager. He coordinated everything and was nothing but friendly and helpful. The property is drop dead gorgeous. There are plenty of places to walk, hammocks to sleep in, and open dining and plenty of room for a dance party. On our last night Juan booked us a DJ, professional photography crew, helped me order a beautiful custom cake for my wife’s big birthday and we decorated the venue immaculately. Thank you Dean, Juan, Juana, and all of the staff in this awesome resort. We hope to see you again!

Exceeds all expectations!
We stayed at VillaCocomar for 1 week and it was a dream. We hosted our microwedding on the property and all 20 of our guests were able to comfortably stay in the villa with us. Every room was immaculate, the beds were so comfortable and each ensuite bathroom was gorgeous! The location is perfect for those looking for a private getaway. It was about a half hour drive from the airport and we never had to leave the property to get anything. The staff is phenomenal, everyone is so kind and ready to jump to make everything as convenient and comfortable as possible. Juan the property manager was very attentive, checking in frequently and making sure everything was running smoothly. If we needed anything, more beverages, water pressure checked, help connecting the speaker system to play music poolside, anything from a pharmacy, he instantly delivered. Juana is an incredible chef, every meal our guests were looking forward to, everything is fresh and made to order. We made a menu with Juana in advance for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire week and the process was a breeze. The expresso maker in the kitchen was also a huge hit, cappucino's all day! The beach was steps away, the pool was spacious and always clean. The cabanas and really the entire yard was something like you'd see out of Home and Garden magazine. Our family has never had a 5 star experience like this and it made our wedding day/trip all that more special. The instagram savvy in our group had a field day since there are so, so many photographic spots on the hammocks, beach, swings, cabanas, etc. I scoured the internet looking for a place to host our wedding and all 20 of our guests, this all inclusive private boutique resort well exceeded all expectations and hopes! We recommend Villa Cocomar and it's incredible staff a thousand times over!

We traveled with a group of 28 people to the property and have never been so happy with booking a place site unseen! The staff is incredible - María helps in any way she can. Juana is the bestttttt chef you can have. We preferred to eat there instead of out every night (certainly not our usual for the amount of foodies in the group). Property was clean, well maintained, secure, etc. the gym was an added bonus with the peloton bike. Can’t recommend enough. We had our wedding here and am so happy with the choice of venue!

Beyond our Expectations!
The Villa Cocomar is exceptional in every way! We recently spent a two-week holiday in paradise. As a multi-generational family of 14, there was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax. The bedrooms are just as pictured. The grounds are spectacular and the pool was a perfect spot to read, relax, and swim. Maria, Juana and all the staff were so helpful. The food was delicious and any request we made was quickly delivered. We also appreciated the check-ins by Dean the property owner and manager. He stopped by several times to make sure that we were happy. Beside the beauty of the property, there are a few amenities that make Villa Cocomar stand out from other properties. The gym was a great place to workout in the morning and the view of palm trees added to the experience. Many of us took advantage of the on-site massage. There is nothing better than getting a massage while hearing the surf! The beach was a great place to run, walk and swim. We loved the location. It was near the town of Cabarete but not in the middle of the town’s activity. Some of us took advantage of kite surfing lessons and many of us played tennis nearby. Anywhere you wanted to go, Nico, a driver from the local cab service would take you. As world travelers, Villa Cocomar rates at the top of our list of places that we have visited. The property is amazing You feel like you are in your own private resort. Maria the house manager was always available to address any of our needs. Juana and Ana Maria created cuisine equal to some of the finest restaurants. They even prepared a spectular Thanksgiving feast for 29! Nicco the driver was always on top of our transportation needs and Dean is the ultimate host, he answered our numerous emails promptly ! All in all you can’t go wrong with Villa CocoMar

Great Experience for our Business Meeting
I would like to say thank you to Dean, Maria, and all the staff that made our 6 day stay perfect. 19 of us met for a business meeting and it was set up exactly the way we needed. Everytime I asked for assistance, I was taken care of quickly. I would highly recommend staying here!

Paradise!
My family and I just returned from a week long stay at Villa Cocomar. There were a total of 20 of us celebrating my retirement with me and I must say, choosing this property was an absolute hit! What made this particular trip for us was the staff that took care of everything on site, and I mean everything. They all conveniently live right next door. None of us had to cook a meal, or wash a dish, or clean a room. Dean has a select group of people who are very friendly, and attentive to every need. I would like to thank Maria, especially who mainly acted as our host. But there were so many others including Juana who did the cooking. We had to buy all the food, but that wasn't a problem at all. We just made store runs at the mercado nearby every time any member of our party was out. Niko and Enrique usually did the driving, I especially appreciated their flexibility to our requests to go out, especially when we needed to do some fun excursions into Puerto Plata. These guys were particularly attentive to ensure we were always safe and on time. Every time there was a minor maintenance issue, some staff member was "on it." As for the property itself, it's appointed perfectly. It is very expansive, so the group of us never felt like we "were on top of each other." The property had covered beds, sitting areas w/tables overlooking the beach, hammocks under the trees, etc. The rooms are very nice, all with A/C units and great WiFi. The main congregating area was near the pool, with an outside bar that we kept stocked all week, and the dining deck area that seated all 20 of us. The liquor was flowing and the music was allowed to play loud without any fear of someone complaining about it. There's another bar area with a deck space that had a great pool table. There's a gymnasium with plenty of equipment including free weights. (the treadmill did not work well, but everything else did). There's a another space for massage service outside closer to the beach which my family used all week. You simply paid Miriam individually ($50 / hr). As for the beach, they aren't kidding when they say it's private. We never saw anyone else on it but us! This property doesn't neighbor any other resort property that attracts crowds. Obviously, I was very impressed with this place. It made me very happy to celebrate and spend time with my family there. I highly recommend Villa Cocomar to anyone!
