This is not a 'hotel', it is an unfinished project converted to a type of accommodation with random locked doors within the room. When we arrived at 7pm in the evening after a 6hr drive from Sth Australia, we found that the lock of the main door (to outside) of our room was broken and the door therefore did not lock. In place of offering another room, the proprietor chose to advise that our options were that she could 1. cancel our booking OR, 2. we could stay in the unlockable room for the evening until it was repaired the next day OR, 3. we could pay EXTRA for a 'better room'. When we refused to pay EXTRA for a 'better room' and advised that looking for alternative accommodation at 7pm in an area we did not know (we live in Singapore) would put us at risk of being homeless for the evening (and she already had our money), only then did she advise that in fact, a somewhat equivalent room (with a working lock) was available and we could take it for our booking of 3 nights. Put simply, it was unscrupulous of the proprietor to use an unfortunate situation for 'extra' payment. As we had already prepaid and we did not trust that we would receive a refund, we chose to stay for our 3 nights. Note, not once was our room serviced or cleaned during our stay and the random locked doors in our room was less than comfortable. On the positive side, the room was well presented. The facility is however, an unfinished project with an unfinished feel.
