"Our stay far exceeded expectations wrt service (butlers, restaurant and spa staff), food quality, restaurant and overall ambiance. We loved our 5 night stay in a Butler Valley Pool Villa, which was very relaxing. The afternoon rain storms were fantastic! We had several treatments at the spa and three private yoga classes, which were all excellent. The spa location and setting are sublime and fantastic! Raditya “Mr Sun” gave excellent private yoga classes down by the river. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the therapists’ names but they were great too. While we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return, this property (or parts of it) isn’t for everyone. It’s located on a steep hillside in a jungle, which is great for ambiance and views, but it might not be the place for anyone that isn’t comfortable with steep slopes and narrow, steep uneven stairs. There are golf carts for access to the upper levels of the resort only. The spa and lower area is currently only available by steps, but a new funicular/elevator is expected to be operational soon.) It may not be suitable for people with limited mobility or small children. Butler suites are worth the splurge. The butler team uses WhatsApp messenger to keep track of guest requests across shifts. Very organized. They’ll arrange room service and anything that you may need. We were in excellent hands with Yupik, Angga, Wawan, Jaka and Dedy covering the shifts.
