Cockroaches take priority
Prior to checking in I called to make sure they had rooms available because I had to leave a different hotel late in the evening due to general safety concerns and bug issues. The man working insured me they had rooms available and he would be happy to accommodate my needs, so I booked and went to check in. Upon checkin the man told me that hotels.com did not charge me correctly and it would be more money which he ended up saying that was incorrect but there would be a $10.00 parking fee which I agreed to. I ran my card and they charged me for the full 2 night stay at $133.40 overdrafting my checking account. He insured it would be resolved by morning. The next day the woman I spoke with could not help me and told me no would have to wait for management on Monday. Management basically kicked me out of the hotel and refused to honor the total of $280 I was charged. On top of that…my door lock wouldn’t work, the faucet in the bathroom was broken, the toilet ran all night and I was paid a late night visit by cockroaches. All in all it was a horrible traumatic experience leaving me with no where to stay in which I ended up sleeping in my car. The hotel manager told me that the cockroaches were a normal part of being close to the beach….ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She refused to refund me the money for the double charge. I left in tears. Hotels.com made it right issuing me a full refund of the $134.00 in rewards I had used. Again, HOTELS.CON SAVED THE DAY!
