The location itself was excellent. The staff was typical New Yorker- abrupt but efficient particularly the lady at the Hilton Honors desk who was stingy when I asked her for an extra bottle of water - what’s the big deal for a Hilton Honors member ??? Plus the hotel added a $35 a day mandatory breakfast charge whether you use it or not - maybe that’s typical of NY but it should have been disclosed or presented in a friendly manner. It’s the attitude of the front office lady that made a bad mark for me when we checked in. The housekeeping, bell staff & coffee shop personnel made up for one person’s rude behavior. Thank God!

The property is dated for sure. There is no more VIP lounge. The small cafe is cute with restaurant pricing for everything they sell. Breakfast buffet is $60 but does not include smoked salmon (they consider it premium). The buffet is not worth it. Best to get coffee and pastry from the cafe and go explore around the city :) 2 hotel's wing have very different rooms. One is more updated than other and has way better views and layout (comparing one-bedroom suites). Very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Very large bathrooms and having 1.5 bathroom in a suite is a huge plus for us.

Absolutely loved staying here. It was close to everything (very walkable) including Grand Central Station, where I could hop on a subway easily. The bed was super comfy and the room was spacious. Even the bathroom was spacious and the walk in shower was amazing. My only concern was the A/C vent in the bathroom. It really was filthy, and needs to be properly cleaned. Great views from my room on the 33rd floor.

Overall good. I was very surprised when the steet was locked down and no one informed us. I eventually figured that out and walked to the top of the street for a taxi. You would think someone would tell you seeing you are waiting with luggage outside.
