The Big Barn Farm is a charming 25 acre Farm centrally located in the Green Mountains and surrounded by almost 1000 protected and undeveloped acres. The property consists of a large Farmhouse, multiple outbuildings and a Landmark 5-story Historic Barn. This 4-season paradise is a wonderful place to ESCAPE, RELAX and PLAY!

This rental, a modern, comfortable, renovated 2nd story condo with all the amenities (and great internet) in the charming Farmhouse, is only 5 miles to Ludlow/Okemo. It provides easy access to everything but it's far enough away to relax! Close to: Skiing, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing, Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Fishing, Restaurants. [House has 2 listings - lower level condo can also be rented.] Perfect ski rental for Okemo or Killington. Perfect summer rental for Echo Lake, Lake Rescue and Plymouth State Park.

The Farmhouse condo has been recently updated and modernized. After a great day of recreation, store your gear/toys in the spacious & safe parking area and enter the Farmhouse to find plenty of hooks/storage for your gear. Once inside the cozy setting, relax, pour a beverage & soak up the stunning mountain and valley views through the bay windows of the large sitting/dining room as you contemplate what you'll cook up in the fully modernized kitchen. At dusk, head outside to the bonfire pit and enjoy roasting marshmallows by the warm glow of the fire and fading sunset.

In this sunny, private and secure upstairs condo, the Master is a large, comfortable room with a deluxe queen bed, a twin bed and a desk for remote work/school purposes. Children or guests will love the bright and cozy second bedroom with a queen bed. If you have a little person, there is an organic toddler floor mattress that can be placed in any of the sleeping areas.

The kitchen has brand new high-end appliances and is outfitted with everything you'll need to serve up culinary delights. The bathroom has a full-sized tub with rain shower head and a large capacity washer/dryer to clean up from the day's activities.

When the snow melts, the farm gets set up with outdoor picnic seating, Adirondack chairs and the most relaxing hammock you've ever experienced. Truly paradise!

You'll feel like you're away from it all - even though you are only a short jaunt from the heart of everything that Central VT has to offer! The Ludlow/Cavendish area (5 miles away) is an amazing culinary destination! Lucky renters may experience the tasting room at the winery right next door (open occasionally - Brook Farm Vineyards/Bates Mansion). And the recreation opportunities just outside the front door are unparalleled.

Snowboarding trip
I took my best friend and I up to Vermont for a guys weekend away to snowboard. We were lucky enough to rent this beautiful property. We were minutes from the resort while still being more secluded in the country side. The place was clean with lots of cooking utensils to make food while visiting. The hosts were very quick and responsive about any questions had which were very few since they did a great job explaining the process prior to check in. We will definitely be back next season.

February Break Stay
We planned a week to ski at Okemo, and found the Big Barn to be a cozy base to travel from. While it is outside of Ludlow, we found the trip to Okemo to be pretty easy and faster than we expected. House is old, but the accommodations were comfortable. (Could get a bit chilly in one of the bedrooms though). Very quiet, with an expansive property, and lots of beautiful scenery around. If you don't mind stayin gout of town or off the mountain, consider the Big Barn.

Wonderful trip
We had a wonderful time - the house and property were beautiful. The Barn is located close to places to eat and explore, and also enough out of the way that you feel the country vibes. Our hosts were communicative and super helpful while we were there. The place is well stocked, beds are comfortable & there was lots of fun things outside for the kids to play on. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property, Cozy home!
The Big Barn came just as advertised. The living space was cozy and upgraded with very nice new appliances and brand new windows. The 25 acre property is gorgeous and so is the surrounding area. Thank you Sheryl for being so responsive when we had an issue with some of the electronics. Unfortunately we had very rainy weather but I would recommend this property to anyone who wishes to experience true Vermont living.

Wonderful Winter Vacation
Our family really enjoyed this apartment at the Big Barn Farm. It was warm, well furnished and very comfortable for our family. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were very useful during our stay.The property was great - lots of open space to explore and walk and just relax. Location is perfect - about 10min from the town of Ludlow, Okemo Ski resort, 30min to Killington and just under 2 hours to Stowe for skiing. Owners were very communicative and helpful as we planned our stay and during our time there. We would definitely come back! Thanks!

Great place for two or three people
Very clean, and easy to access property. Dog friendly and the owners are friendly. We'd definitely go back. About 30 minutes from Killington, 10 minutes from downtown Ludlow with food.

Great getaway
We enjoyed our trip to the Big Barn Farm. We stayed in the upstairs apartment which had a great “mud room” which we took advantage of for all of our winter gear. The property had old charm but was incredibly clean and had everything we needed: laundry, kitchen, linens provided. Our dog felt right at home and made friends with the owner’s dog Lucy who always greeted us with a ball when we went outside. The farm was in a perfect location with lots of space to walk around outside right from the door and we also made daily trips to Okemo for skiing (only 10 minutes away).

Great house in rural Vermont!

Just what I was looking for
The property is amazing, the condo was beautiful and had all the necessary items to cook which we found helpful as we saved by cooking at the condo. My friend love the hammock outside and the family dog Lucy was so friendly And loving. Beautiful place and just what my friend and I needed to get away in beautiful Vermont. I was close to the town of Ludlow and the waterfalls we went to see at buttermilk. Great location. And Trevor was very helpful with any and all questions and we had!

We loved this spacious, farmhouse upstairs apartment. The apartment is the entire upstairs floor of this farmhouse, which is situated in a pretty open valley in the Vermont hills. The apartment is fully heated, has a fully equipped modern kitchen and bath, cable and internet work great, and the host is warm and responsive. The bay window in the picture gives a lovely view of the valley as the sun comes up over the mountains and the mist rises from the fields. We felt very at home.

Great house for a ski weekend
We were 2 couples and stayed here on a really cold weekend in March to ski Okemo. The apartment was the second floor in the house. The kitchen was well stocked, we were able to cook with no problems. The larger bedroom was colder than the rest of the apartment, but my girlfriend and I like it that way, so it didn't bother us. The place was about a 10 minute drive, partly on dirt roads, to Okemo. The ground was so frozen that we didn't have any problems driving in our front wheel drive van. We'd stay here again.

Best bay window in the world!
Our party of three stayed here for about a week, skiing in Okemo during the day. The location was perfect for that: even though the resort was just 10-15 minutes' drive away, this property is located in a quiet neighbouring valley, so it feels like you're truly going home at the end of each day. Ludlow itself isn't the prettiest, but it has good amenities, including a large Shaw's food store. The property itself has a good sized lounge, a large TV and a really great bay window, with a view across the surrounding countryside. The heating/cooling system was good, and the kitchen had pretty much everything you could imagine. If you're staying longer, there's also a large washer and dryer, which look new. Sheryl and Trevor were great hosts, and were available if we needed them, but otherwise completely unobtrusive. If you need to hire skis, I'd recommend Totem Pole - their website isn't the best, but don't let that put you off - we found the service and equipment both great. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We think it would also be a beautiful location the rest of the year, with lots to do and see.

Wonderful Place!
We stayed for 2 nights at this lovely apartment. It was clean, tidy, well appointed and cozy. All the new appliances and storage space for ski gear was great too! It was a short drive to Okemo. Beautiful views! We plan on definitely staying here again.

Cozy, Cute, Comfortable and Clean!
Beautiful views. Perfect location. Close enough to Okemo Mountain for convenience but far enough away to get you out of the fray. The owners have thought of every detail to make the stay very comfortable. I can't wait to return.
