Not worth the price tag
Room is small, outdated, stained carpet. No fan in the bathroom for after shower/toilet. Door hydraulics off - very difficult to open/close. TV went out 3 times during stay - had to call front desk to fix. In-room coffee pods bad taste and no tea. Daily parking fee of $29 (hidden on hotels.com site way at the bottom). Staff amiable, but in a stepford/fake manner. Very disappointed for the price we paid - don't recommend this resort.

Likes: The room was always cleaned when we got back. The pools were AMAZING!!! Happyhour menu and prices were great. Loved the toads, chickens and fish on property. Live music each night was outstanding. Dislikes: Our shower wouldn't turn off. Charging ports on phone didn't work. Not enough bedside outlets. No microwave in room. The one in the restaurant was also broken. (Staff used staffroom microwave for us) Staff seemed to be aware of what guests wanted. Management didn't.

Love the resort and staff. My only complaint is only 2 restaurants on site and they are limited pricey menu. Some of restaurant staff are rude too! We weren’t able to swim off the beach there due to jellyfish and current was way to strong.

Better days behind
Nestled under the landing path for the Lihue airport two miles away rests the faded Outrigger KBR. Upon entering the updated lobby we were greeted by the sounds of the lounge singer who was trying to make up in volume what she lacked in talent, making any time spent in the lounge painful on multiple levels. When we entered our musty room we were faced with a leaking toilet in an otherwise standard but clean room. When we asked the staff to put us in another room (no maintenance was available at night) they quickly responded and placed us in the room immediately across from the loud ice machine and next to the elevator both despite explicit requests not to do so. If you are beach fans you may want to focus on the wonderful beaches elsewhere on the island as the beach in front of the Outrigger is quite small and covered with debris. The pools are lovely, but the staff does warn you to wear shoes to avoid the droppings of the numerous chickens on the property. Overall, the Outrigger is nice enough with a friendly staff that tries to overcome a resort which has seen better days.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Not only did they mess up our booking, but upon arrival they gave us a different room than what we specifically asked for. The towels in the room were dirty, the room smelled musty and humid, the shower curtain was broken, the shower was leaking and the pillows were literal rocks. The resort is not up to par with other resorts I have stayed at, there are not enough beach chairs or umbrellas and when you request for any the answer is that they are limited. 6 pairs of umbrellas and lounge chairs is not enough for a resort. They don’t have room service and did not bother to alert any guests about the fire drill, keep in mind we were in the shower panicking because we heard the fire alarm and rushed out only to be told that we could go back to our rooms it was a drill, there was no alert or anything. The quality of the room was not the best and neither was the food, while the lobby entrance may be pretty and relaxing other than the pool area there is nothing else for this hotel to stand out with. If I would have known the lack of upkeep and quality before hand I would have not stayed at this hotel. Beware all other great reviews, those guests clearly have not stayed at quality accommodations because anyone that thinks this hotel is worth staying at is on drugs.
