Explore the property by walking the multiple paths throughout the property, crossing the road & hiking up the mountains or perching yourself on top of the highest rock. Fans in bedrooms & portable AC units/fans, which can be moved room to room, can keep you cool during the summer. You will notice many artistic elements throughout the home. The home was designed & build by a lifelong artist who crafted the tilework pieces in the ledges of the windowsills, tile surrounds, bench seating next to windows & more. True adobe home w/artistic details to match at every spot. Watch the movie of 'my parents' designing and building the home from hand & you will surely see how much care was taken into every artistic inch of the home. There are games for kids, adults & couples to enjoy, as well as, a small library.

An art nook in the back of the kitchen has been added with options to create your very own artwork to take home. Watercolor, colored pencils, paints, many mediums for both kids and adults are awaiting your magical touch. Please contribute to the sketch book. There are plenty of canvases and water color papers for you to enjoy. Make and take while you enjoy the 360 degree views night and day. Our goal has always been to never have to turn on the TV and to bring out the artist in everyone. Children can paint rocks & add to the property.

Yoga/exercise mats and blocks have been added for you to move your workout outdoors in the morning or even on the heated floor to take in the full enjoyment of the peace and tranquility.

Windows throughout the room provide natural lighting and beautiful sights at every angle. There are two counter height bar stools and 4 rolling chairs w/bench seating at the dining area, seating 8 comfortably for meals. Massive custom designed granite countertops provide plenty of space for the ideal family gathering. There is a kiva in the room to warm yourself during the winter. Updated living room furniture & a massive Firestick TV (with Pluto TV) is fixed to the wall. New Oven (23'), current hot tub is new as of April 23 (24 hours to warm).

***Washer and Dryer, along with deep freeze, extra cleaning supplies/paper towels, etc. are available for guests staying 5 nights or longer. Please ask for secondary code to owners panty. A detailed welcome binder will be located in the home.

Bedrooms/Bathroom:
The home features two large bedrooms, both with queen beds. The master bedroom is at the back of the house, has its very own kiva fireplace and large windows that overlook the valley. A full size fouton couch was added for kids to sleep if needed. Double full glass French doors lead to a private patio providing the perfect spot for morning coffee. The back closet space leads to two separate rooms for (his and her) toilets/vanity spaces. The master bathroom has a shower with rainfall showerhead. The massive corner tub is jetted and sits in a corner of windows overlooking the valley w/new chandelier & can often times be the most romantic spot in the home. New ceiling fans installed (23') both bedrooms provide a light breeze throughout your stay.

The second bedroom has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds (w/trundle) which can accommodate 5 people comfortably. A electric fireplace has been added to keep you warm in the evenings. A dresser and closet available for storage, a decorative chair, and side table along with reading lights on each side of the bed make this a great room to relax. A back door heads out to the side of the house. Opening the windows at night allows for the best breeze. The second bathroom across the hall has a rainfall showerhead, large vanity and seating. You’ll surely notice the hand laid mosaic tilework up the side of the shower stall. *** please be careful climbing to top bunk.

Outdoor area: BRING YOUR OWN WOOD
There are 3 decks on the back and side of the property along with paved areas. Two back decks have gates. A SOLO Brand stove/wood burning fire pit has been added (Mar. 2022) w/additional seating (stacked and stored inside). A deck off the master has a quaint sitting area. The other deck has a nice conversation area for an evening glass of wine. There is a two car covered car port out front and a rocked drive way, both step and ramp entry to a one story all tiled home. Many gates and gardens where kids can get lost exploring, climbing and searching for critters are located all throughout the 3.5 acres. The tubs and showers use an on demand hot water system. The home uses water harvesting for the lower gardening beds. Be careful when showering or using the tub to not put any harsh chemicals down the drain as it flows directly into the garden. Furthermore, be careful walking the property for pipes that run throughout to water the grounds.

Items to bring:
• Firewood (might be some left over from past visitors), bring up from local grocery store on your way to the home for the outdoor wood burning outdoor fire pit off the patio and kivas.
• Toiletries (toilet paper & hand soap is provided & we try to stock shampoo & conditioner)
• If you want or need paper plates - we provide you with plenty of paper towels, toilet paper & trash bags.

Note:
There is no landline or cable TV to the home. WIFI is available. Cell service is highly unreliable in the area and not until you get closer to town. You will want to use WIFI calling while in the home or email.
Bunk bed max weight on top is 150lbs, bottom bunk and trundle 175lbs.
The home can accommodate dogs/cats up to 50 lbs for a NON REFUNDABLE fee of $79. There is a semi fenced in yard and pet debris must be picked up and on leashes during walks in the area. We do not suggest leaving pets alone after dark outside due to other inhabitants.

New Items Adorn Casa del Cuervo:

This home was converted to a VRBO late summer 2021. It is a mix of modern, antiques, and traditional native decorations. Linens, towels and kitchen items are constantly being updated. Bedroom mattresses were replaced, most furniture in the house is new to the conversion. Damages will be assessed for movement or destruction of property. New outdoor seating has been replaced on both porches, along w/lighted ceiling fans ***New outdoor Solo brand fire pit stove/cover and additional seating on porch for those chilly nights and a brand new grill with cover to cook outside (4/2022). There are 3 sitting areas and patios off the Raven House.

We happened to be staying during a snow storm. The kivas were perfect. There was abundant firewood and owner even offered an extra night in case roads were hazardous. She was very attentive. Location and views were perfect.

Jemez Springs Gem!
Perfect location, great place to stay! The family loved our time together at this charming adobe home. Plenty of room, clean, and everything you could want to have great family meals together. Located near Jemez Springs, we went to the Hot Springs twice a day as well as hiking to nearby Spence Hot Springs. Views from the back porch were awesome - we had coffee out there in the morning and star gazed at night.

Great getaway to experience the Jemez Mountains trails by day and star gazing at night
We spent our days hiking the trails in the Jemez Mountains and learning about the geology of the area. We saw a herd of elk and enjoyed the beauty of aspens in full color. Our accommodation was perfect for seeing sunrise and star gazing.

lovely home; gorgeous location
The home is lovely, open and relaxing, well furnished and impeccably maintained. In addition to its intrinsic charms, the home is essentially a viewing post from which to soak up the landscape -- which is indelibly, jaw-droppingly, gorgeous at all times of day. The whole set-up is like a small dwelling set up in front of a vast, ever-changing, light-playing Monet canvas. Christine -- the host -- is responsive, kind, efficient and thoughtful. We loved our time there.

We live in Albuquerque, and this place was a great get away for a long weekend. It is clean, very well furnished, and close to the mountains and Jemez Springs. The views from the deck are amazing and are a joy to look at in the morning and evening. I would stay here again.

RavenHouse in July for 3 people
Beautiful home with spectacular canyon views but unfortunate traffic noise from nearby SR4. All amenities provided, kitchen well stocked for a group. House was hot though, even at night, no AC and hard to keep cool in July (80+ degree weather) despite fans, shades, water coolers, etc. Very responsive host. Expensive with added fees of service.

Raven House glory
We had a delightful stay at Raven House this February. The house was in the Perfect location in the gorgeous mountains just a few minutes from Jemez Springs. The fireplaces were magical, the views from every window spectacular and the beds were very comfortable! We are definitely planning another stay there this fall. The only issue we had was that the guest shower did not get warm enough, but it was no problem to use the main shower. This was one of our favorite places to retreat and relax. We love Raven House.

Excellent mountain home
The Raven House is nestled on a mountain side, hidden from view. The accommodations were clean and tidy with lots of room. We enjoyed the hot tub on the property and the wonderful dark night sky. It was too warm to light the fireplace or outside fire pit, but it was very comfortable and a welcomed relief from the heat in southeast Texas! Information about the Jemez mountains and local places to go was provided for us and made it easy to explore. Thanks for all the extras!

Great view, lots of room, interesting house
We had a great stay here and enjoyed all of the amenities of the property - from the view to the well-stocked kitchen. It is quiet - just a bit of traffic noise when you are outside - and the view is lovely and changes minute to minute as the sunlight and clouds move across the cliffs on the other side of the river. The home has some interesting details and a great history.,...nothing "cookie cutter" about it. It is comfortable to be in. Christine is so easy to work with. If you want a good place to visit the Jemez Springs area - don't miss Valles Caldera!" - this is a great option.

Lovely location
Perfect location- the view from both decks is stunning. Kitchen was well-supplied. Would have given 5 stars, except the 2nd shower did not work. We arrived on Monday evening, and when I went to take a shower on Tuesday a.m., the water didn’t turn on. The host quickly responded – she was apologetic, and said this happened with the other shower not long ago. Plumber did not arrive until Thursday, and he was not able to fix it – we were leaving on Saturday so there was no point in trying to fix it before we left. So, we rented a house thinking it had two full, functional bathrooms, when it only had one shower. This was not ideal with non-related people traveling together, especially since the one working shower was in the primary bedroom area. When I asked for a nightly refund for the inconvenience (we would not have rented it if we had known it only had 1 shower), the host backtracked and said the housekeeper informed her that it was functional when it was cleaned prior to our arrival, and stated that since I didn’t report it broken at check-in (I didn’t actually try to use the shower until the next day), I must have unintentionally broken it when turning it on, and refused any refund since it was “functional at check-in.” Be warned that the primary bathroom has a shower with a loose/iffy handle, and if it breaks, it’ll likely be your fault. All that being said, it was a lovely location & we enjoyed our stay in Jemez Springs.

Unique home well supported by Owner
Probably the best cleaned VRBO we have rented. Unique home style so very appropriate for this rural location (near tons of hiking). Very supportive/responsive owner (a small problem with one shower was taken care of in a few hours). Great separation of the two bedrooms, which is very nice if you are sharing with another couple. Well stocked kitchen. Great views in the morning and evenings. Will stay there again.

Spectacular views.
I went with my mother and sister. My mother wanted to paint and this house was set up for artists, so it was perfect for her. The views are absolutely spectacular. It is pretty remote so you want to pick up supplies before heading out. The remoteness also means you have an incredible view of the night stars. I had forgotten how wonderful it is to look up and see the Milky Way and thousands of stars. There is a tiny town, Jemez Springs, with wonderful hot springs about 8 miles up the road, a few places to eat, but no food stores. There are lots of areas to hike, unique geographical features as well as historical towns and pueblos-- all very close. The house itself has a total New Mexico artist vibe with lots of interesting features and is nicely laid out. We were there in the middle of an historic heatwave, so we had to get creative with the cooling system (no central air). But really that will be a non-issue almost any other time of year. We slept with the windows open and listened to the many birds and the wind. It does have a magical feel to the place, and staying here you start to feel connected to the land and sky, and even the people who came before us, in a way we lose track of in the city. I would definitely go back to Raven House and likely will!
