Back to Hua Hin Thailand and third time lucky arriving at this impressive hotel reception with the most welcoming of welcomes, cool drink, classic check in and personal greeting from the manager Jan before being whisked away on the golf buggy to our large pool villa located across the beach road. We felt like we had arrived home. Please see our previous reviews and enjoy our update here. The villa was large, private pool just as large as last time, with a comfy outside day bed for breaks out of the direct sun. Inside, a very comfy super king bed, and ample storage, perfect for longer trips or larger families, easily sleeping up to 4 persons. Rustic charm, unique and definitely not branded like the chain hotels nearby. A really nice base for a visit to Hua Hin, located right in the middle of everything and Grand by and in nature. Check out was friendly and private, located in the villa section, bags taken care of from the room to departure. It was sad leaving here but I won’t forget the smiles and waves from the manager and staff as we left this great hotel. The real gem here is the staff, with service now 5 star plus. Land of smiles starts here by far, nothing is too much trouble, guest centric and thoughtful service, especially in the club, staff remembering likes and dislikes and ensuring comfort by directing sun canopy’s and fans when needed. The Centara Grand is our Hua Hin home away from home and we will be back.

The staff made our stay exceptional! The hotel oozes old world charm, the grounds are gorgeous and the restaurants fantastic! Our favourite was the Beach side restaurant. Did I mention the staff? We can not recommend this establishment enough, thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay. Make sure you make at least one sunrise and walk 5 minutes to House of Croissants for a tasty treat!

This is our new favourite resort hotel in Hua Hin. The colonial style of the building and old fashioned friendly service give the impression of stepping back in time. There’s a choice of charming cafe, beach bistro or more formal dining, all excellent. The hotel is very central and has stunning sea views and easy access to a public stretch of beach where monks receive offerings at dawn every day. Centara is brilliant value for money compared with similar resort hotels in Hua Hin. You can see why many guests return year after year.

We stayed in a private villa and have to say that this was one of the best hotel we stayed in Huahin. The room is really nice and clean with terrace space and pool that you can relax. The villa area is separated on the other side, so it‘s a bit far from hotel facilities but there‘s a buggy service 24 hour and you can still walk around. The good thing is it‘s private and very quiet in the area. Around the property, there‘s a shopping street area that you can walk. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and food are great and there‘s variety of options you can select. Would definitely go back again. There‘s some small ants walking around table but this probably because the villa is located around the garden area and it‘s quite nature. It’s quite minimal but would be better if it can be prevented.

What a lovely classy hotel with old world charm. I feel I have traveled back in time to an by gone era of grandeur and elegance. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The rooms may not be up to the modern day comfort standard but everything is functional for a relaxing vacation. The garden grounds and the building architecture are the gems of this resort. I love wandering through the beautiful marble and wood corridors and porticos and the extensive lush gardens. My favourite places are the quiet library and the charming railway museum which serves as a lovely parlor to enjoy an afternoon tea. There are many quiet places in the hotel ground with comfortable chairs to read and relax after a day at the beach or pool. The beach directly in front of the hotel is clean and suitable for swimming. You can walk along the fine sand beach up and down for miles. The location is very convenient as one can walk to the vibrant night market or the train station within 10 minutes. The restaurants on site are food with reasonable prices (about the same prices as trendy restaurants in Bangkok locals go to). We had to change our pre booked car back to Bangkok and the hotel staff was very kind and assisted us finding another car last minute. I enjoyed our stay here very much. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to experience classic Thai hospitality and something much more than the cookie cutter hotel experience.
