The property is very nicely kept. It is an older building so you can’t expect amazing things but overall being in notional park, few minutes away from beautiful view of the Canyon with many options of good food, makes this place unforgettable…

Had a great stay . I would recommend that beds have a cushion topper and room baseboards dusted . Other than that we had a great time.

Location was fantastic. Walking distance to the rim trail and shuttle bus stop was right in front of the property. We had a room with kitchenette in the south building and it was clean with sufficient tools to cook an easy meal. Dining options at the lodge were not great and the onsite grocery store is very expensive, so best to plan and buy items before arriving at the lodge. Staff at the lodge were friendly and helpful.

We had a terrific stay at the Maswik. So easy to walk to the Bright Angel Trail and taking the shuttle to other sections was also very easy and convenient. Food court served the purpose, but it was nothing to get excited about. Room was spacious and comfortable. Wish there had been brighter light bulbs or more lamps. It was dark in the room.

Avoid room 1202
Room 1202 is a disaster. The proximity of the room to the stairwell door means youre consistently woken by the noise of people hitting the push bar to open the door, followed by the door slamming itself closed. Each night I stayed I got terrible sleep. Aside from the late night noise, everything else really was good. The room size is surprisingly large, the balcony was a nice touch, the food is what you would expect for a food court but the entire village had good food options overall.

Close walking distance to shuttle and to other lodges on south rim, quiet, and good dining options. Rooms were huge and nice in the south. Enjoyed our stay.

I found the food court to be overwhelmingly bland. There was a definite lack of seasoning, fresh salsa, hot sauce and fresh fruit. Who serves red and golden delicious in 2024?. Another waffle iron or 2 or 3 will be helpful. Why is there no outdoor dining in the food court? The blond lady behind the guide desk was patient, friendly and helpful to get us started on the South Rim. We will definitely return but will bring my own seasonings.

We stayed for 3 nights in the South rooms. We would definitely come again. There were some initial issues with the bath not draining and the fridge not cooling due to the back being frozen over. However, they sent someone quickly to pull out a bunch of hair from drain and to reset the fridge settings from the back on the outside. (I had wrongly expected the knob to be inside the fridge.) After the issues were dealt with, the stay was great. There's a free shuttle right outside the main building. The food was good enough and convenient. It was an easy walk to the bright angel trailhead. Our whole family enjoyed our stay.

our first time lodging in the park. 2nd floor room has nice cathedral ceiling, with patio deck. Great space to enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature. A short 1/3 mile walk to wonderful view of Grand Canyon. The nearby lodge reception building contains: 1. registration & restrooms. 2. cafeteria with four choices; salads, and hot foods, plus a separate dining area for pizza and beer. 3. gift shop

Overpriced, tiny room for four people with table only for two. The water flush for the toilet did not always work, the water did not drain properly in the shower, the most terrible and cheap coffee maker in the world, took one hour to boil water for pasta on a ridiculous stove top, no dish washer, and the list just goes on!! Why would I pay so much for a kitchenette room for 4-5 people? Booked for 5, still was charged 50$ for an ancient rollaway. My son could barely sleep a wink! This hotel is only possible because it is operated by a monopoly, and because the location of course is fantastic. The positives was a friendly young guy at checkin, everyone else was unfriendly or incompetent or both. The pizza pub was delicious! And no, we did not go and complain because we didn't want to ruin our short time there.

Just what we needed
Our visit was to enjoy the Grand Canyon. We loved the room and the belcony. I was very pleased to have a view of the road and woods not just the side of another hotel. The weather was perfect for sitting out there. We enjoyed many aspects of the hotel and park. Absolutely would stay there again. Only downside…. Park employees need to understand the rules of the park. Service dogs are allowed in places I was told they were not.
