I have stayed at the Lampliter quite a few times, it is safe & mostly clean. Always try for a Garden view room, closer to the pool and a nice floral view. The Mgmt & Housekeeping have always helped with any issues I have ever been concerned about. I visit the Visalia area often, The Lampliter is my only choice.

Stay away! The condition in the room was absolutely horrific. The lobby smelled like cigarettes. I was hoping the room did not smell the same but it smelled worse. The room reeked of cigarettes. EVERYTHING was stained . Stained floors, stained curtains , stained blankets, stained everything. The bathroom was not cleaned prior to our stay. The tub was absolutely disgusting: IT HAD MOLD and the tub had stains as well. The walls had white patched as it they fixed something and never painted it back. There was no smoke detector, I’m assuming because people smoke in there. STAY AWAY!

Have stayed at LampLiter for years, mostly with Eastern Star Masonic group. Always familiar, clean and safe. Now travel back and forth from Yucca Valley and Redding. Previous owners kept it quaint and nice. Happy to see it being taken care of and getting updated.

Affordable yet classy, great central location
Right off the 198 highway, this Visalia landmark has stood the test of time. Courteous staff, quick & easy check in and out. Some major renovations should cement this classic for years to come!!

The room was under construction and smelled like smoke. The microwave didn’t have a tray in it and stopped working altogether. No opening window or vent in the bathroom. It was just all around a crappy room.

UPDATE: THEY ARE REFUSING A REFUND The woman at the front desk was nice enough. We had to turn our car around to get to our room to park. In the very back of the hotel it looks like this is where they allow people to live. While driving by a man pulled up on his bike with his tent and was doing a drug deal in the doorway. The also have a mobile trailer that is parked on the side that people are living in. When we got to our room we came in to the room it looked old. Although there were signs of remodeling. I went to set our stuff on the bed but noticed stains from either someone who spilled food or vomited and it was cleaned up properly. The bed cover on both beds were stained. As I pulled back the top cover the comforter under had what looked to be old dried blood stains. When I pulled that blanket and the top sheet back roaches came running from under the sheets. I frickin freak out and go our things out of the room quickly. I did not want anything coming home with me. The carpet was so thin and frayed that when you stepped across the seems the tacks from below the carpet stabbed you in your foot . I can truly say this is the WORST experience I have ever had . We had family who was going to meet us there. I called them right away and told them to cancel. It took me 2 hours to get us all booked again everything was booked up. NEVER EVER STAY HERE YOU WILL BRING HOME MORE THAN YOU CAME WITH !!! And they are not cute!!!

Pro: The property has a pool and a beautiful flower garden. Cons: When we arrived the check-in clerk had her phone on speaker phone turned up all the way. At first we thought she may have been watching a movie. At least three times the "F" word was said and Mother F'er. Then she turned to it and said, "I am working". So, apparently she was on a call. There were two other couples in the lobby besides us. Very unprofessional. Then when we got to our room, there were 6 cigarette butts next to the welcome mat. I'm not sure why housekeeping didn't clean them up. There were several pubic hairs on the bathroom floor. Both bedspreads had stains on them that was . There was a stuffed chair that also had stains. The room was disgusting!

If you like hotels where there are tweakers walking around at all hours of the night outside snapping their fingers and holding dialogs with meth gods this might work for you. The huge dumpster to the left of the property was awesome to see especially the dumpster diving tweakers with flashlights digging for tweaker gold. To the right of the rear of the property, the part of the property with a dirt parking lot you can find a group of back pack wearing tweakers and fent users in a circle doing drugs. There is a security guard in a large lifted trucking doing absolutely nothing about the roving criminals. I suspect these tweekers were moved along from Fresno and have found a happy drug friendly home. The interior of my room had broken and stained furniture, the bathtub/shower switching handle was broken off, there is wall patch unpainted in the bathroom. There were small black curly hairs on the sheets and beds were hard and uncomfortable just like the pillows. The only benefit for staying here is there was AC. The property is completely mismanaged and not cared for. There is so much unrealized potential here.

The carpet was dirty, stain spots all over the floor. There was NO Cleaning service for the duration we were there. The shower had a steady water drip. The A/C worked great. There was complimentary coffee for the 1st day.

Though we asked for a pet friendly room, the smell of urine was overwhelming, carpets were stained and felt sticky with our shoes on! Carpet Shampooing needed for sure! The pillow cases had short pubic like hairs, make up stains like they were not changed (I notified the guy on night shift about deodorizing the room, and bedding, whom said to me “there is nothing I can do at the moment) the tv/remote didn’t work, the shower leaked upwards to the ceiling then dropped downwards. We requested bedding to be changed, asked for batteries for the tv remote and shower to be tightened around 9am the next morning. We slept on towels the night before because we were tired from the drive. We left around 9:30am. We came back to the room after 4pm to find that nothing was done!! I called the front desk to let them know that no one came to at least remake the beds. Before I could finish my statement, the woman cut me off by saying “Oh ok but the maid staff went home for the day. I had to get upset and voice tress before they offered to change our room. Besides that, they had construction going on that no one mentioned before booking. We were awoken by construction noise in the early morning. I wanted to like this place. But I didn’t. Customer service was really bad here! I would NOT stay here a second time.
