Eagles Nest

Come see why everyone rates us five stars!! You'll find yourself delighted to spend some time on the beautiful Delaware Bayfront off the grid in our beautiful and newly renovated cozy home! Just minutes from the popular NJ Motorsports Park in Millville, Fortescue is a small fishing village on the picturesque Delaware Bay that has a postcard-like ambiance that you will find incredibly relaxing and perfect for a getaway! Once known as the weakfish capital of the world, Fortescue is famous for it's beautiful beaches, party boat fishing, crabbing, world-famous birdwatching, and it's also a photographer's paradise. Just minutes away from Bivalve, where there are museums and NJ's working tall ship, the AJ Meerwald. There is also seasonal sightseeing and eagle watching for all. Take a special birdwatching and sightseeing tour with captain Dave aboard Maurice River Cruises. This home will not disappoint any photographer as well with the views from the front and back of the property on the surrounding wetlands that expand as far as the eye can see and is perfect for sunset and sunrise photos! This amazing home has three gorgeous bedrooms, brand new full bath and laundry, new kitchen, living, and dining room! Make this your new special getaway place year after year!

Please note ... Eagles Nest is surrounded by wetlands and the Delaware Bay across the street. Never leave children unattended at any time outside on the deck or near the bay. Do not allow anyone to hang on, sit on, jump from, or climb over deck railings.
Absolutely no running, jumping, or horseplay of any kind on decks.

June 19th to August 5th (Give or take a few days)
* Greenhead flies are a pest around the waterfront areas of Fortescue from mid-June thru late July. We recommend bringing bug spray and wearing as much white as possible, as greenheads only can see darker colors. They are also attracted to the heat of your vehicle so driving around can be quite unpleasant during these few weeks of the summer. But with the proper awareness and precautions, we have had countless guests enjoy all that Fortescue has to offer, even the beach, during these weeks. Some small children could have a hard time being outside in daylight hours during the greenhead season.

Restful stay
Eagles nest was a wonderful experience. The owners Jeff and Melanie were awesome hosts. They had everything possible to make your stay feel like home. Clean, comfortable and peaceful are just a few words to express our restful stay. My husband recently had knee replacement surgery and being close to the bay was such a relaxing time for him

Eagles nest is the best!!
100% recommend staying at this property. Impeccably clean and so many amenities come included- bath towels, shampoo, soap, beach towels, beach chairs, linens, brand new milk and coffee creamer, homemade pumpkin bread- really the only thing you need is clothes and groceries for meals and you are set. A two minute walk away from a beautiful bay beach where we watched the sunset both nights. My seven year old said she had more fun here than at the Jersey shore beaches. Everyone in the neighborhood is so friendly. Host is the best I’ve ever communicated with- there was a coastal flood warning while we were there and he made sure to call me to inform us of the situation. Also gave a ton of recommendations of places to eat and what to do in the area. Can’t WAIT to go back!!

Enjoyable
The home was cleaner than the 4-star hotel I stayed at the night before. Communication with Jeffery was easy and replies were quick. The house was well stocked with necessities for cooking, laundry, a first aid kit, and even bug repellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and we are planning a return trip.

A small quiet fishing town with breathtaking sunset view
We enjoyed our stay in Jeff and Melanie's property. Sipping a cup of hot tea during sunset from the patio, or stroking along the beach at nights were very relaxing. Fishing around the jetty and crabbing at the wood bridge at the south end of the beach provided some excitements. Make sure you wear DEED insect repellent if you go out early morning or late night, particularly when there is no wind as there could be numerous gnats attacking your exposed face, hand and feet. Overall it was a different experience for us with some wonderful memories.

Quaint house and location
The living space was very nice and relaxing. The deck was also lovely. Unfortunately when we visited the flies were very heavy in the area so we didn't get to enjoy the beach nearby. If not for that it would have been a great location for us.

This place was absolutely wonderful. Extremely clean, beautiful furnishings and very well updated. Sitting out on the balcony after a long day at the beach or out on the town watching the breathtaking sunset over the water was honestly my favorite part. The peace and tranquility is unmatched, such an amazing location. The owner was very easy to communicate with and answered me almost instantly when I had any questions during our stay. 11/10, definitely recommend and will book here again!

Eagle’s Nest
My husband and I were looking for a quick trip with the kids for July 4th. The home is well-appointed with all the necessities and more. The views are gorgeous and the house is nicely updated. It is a short walk from a quiet beach. The area is far removed from the typical Jersey Shore scene and is very quiet and serene. You’ll need to do all your shopping ahead of time bc there are no stores close by. If you’re looking for some down time to enjoy family/friends in nature, this is your place. Owners very helpful, responsive, and accommodating.

peaceful stay in a lowkey beach town
Host was 10/10, friendly and good communication, the house itself is really nice and kept clean with tons of amenities the little beach down the street was cool seeing all the horseshoe crabs, beautiful sunsets over the water every night from the deck. the only con I could think of are the green head flies attracted to the car exhaust when arriving but they didn’t bother us much after that, will definitely want to stay here again

Wonderful summer stay with nature-loving kids
My two elementary-aged kids and mother had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, warm home in the rustic NJ coastal gem of a town. The hosts went above and beyond to provide us with information for our planning well before arrival and throughout our stay. The property is a short walk to the Fortescue beach, with its amazing sunsets, turtles and horseshoe crabs (May-June), which amazed the kids. The home is so nicely decorated with nautical touches. I can't say enough about how enjoyable the whole experience was for all of us, young and older.

My sister and I stayed for a week and it was the best experience!! The house was immaculate! The owner, Jeffrey, was absolutely a joy to work with and got right back to us every time we needed him (even at 1am when we locked ourselves out of the house). I really cannot say enough about this beautiful place. Oh, don't bother bringing bottled water because the water from the tap is from an artesian well and that is all we drank the entire time!! Thank you, Jeffrey, for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your wonderful home! We WILL be back! Sandy and Cheryl
