Escondido has plenty of outdoor space for its human residents too, with Daley Ranch—a wilderness preserve with extensive trails—and a bevy of golf courses and lakes for outdoor recreation. Recurring Festivals and Events

Grand Avenue is the place to be every Friday night from April through September, when Cruisin' Grand, a parade of pre-1970s cars, takes over the street with a different theme every week. The shops stay open late to add to all of the excitement, and there are kids' activities to keep the little tykes entertained too. Every vacation in Escondido should include a trip to Grand Avenue if hot rods aren't your thing, it becomes a much mellower scene on Tuesdays, when a farmers market pops up instead. If Tuesday doesn't work out, don't worry—Escondido enjoys a different farmers market every day from Saturday through Tuesday!
