4 Rivers Retreat
Three waterways, Cloquet and Artichoke Rivers and Stoney Brook, flow into the St. Louis River near the small town of Brookston. Thus, we present “4 Rivers Retreat”!
Start your day with a cup of coffee on the unique deck overlooking the St. Louis River. After a day of exploring the area, relax with a cocktail and enjoy the sunset. Every season offers spectacular panoramic views from this amazing deck! Gather for drinks, snacks or meals in the bar/grilling shed, the “Whistle Stop”, or around the campfire ring. Enjoy laying out on the double-wide hammock next to the river. Pass some time with available corn hole and ring toss yard games. Take a leisurely romantic stroll down the rural roads and paths or follow the train tracks and look for agates. Launch your boat from the nearby public landing or fish from the public shorelines and have a picnic! Visiting in winter? Enjoy snowshoeing right from the property; cross country ski trails in nearby Cloquet and Duluth and downhill skiing at Spirit Mountain. Meet around the campfire for s’mores. Relax with Netflix in the cabin to wind down the day or cozy up with a good book.
Large back yard with fire pit, picnic table and hammock. Fire wood is free. Grilling area with gas grill or weber charcoal grill available. Bar/shed with a tailgate bar perfect for setting food and drinks on. Garage and pump house are locked. We request guests to stay out of old buildings on west side of property. Quiet river, best for small boats, kayaks or canoes. (Lots of rocks) Ceiling fans are usable by chain in bedroom and living room. Bring your own beach towels if you plan on swimming. Washer and dryer and clothesline available for use. Wearing water shoes advisable because of rocky riverbed. In winter months, slippers suggested for cold hardwood floors. Be aware, there are working train tracks nearby; they do use their horns/whistles! (Trains can be loud and there is no set schedule to follow).
