Worst rental experience in 30+ years. Guests with children beware!
Property had clearly been rushed into service and was not ready for guest occupation. A number of safety issues need to be resolved before someone gets hurt.
No communication whatsoever from the management company weeks after booking and check-in details were not provided until we reported the problem. On arrival, property had been left unlocked, but no key provided to lock the door from the outside, so we could not leave the property and had to cancel our restaurant reservation. No instructions were left for anything in the property.
Only one thin fleece blanket was provided per bed for October, with no spares in cupboards. AC did not provide adequate heating, so we had to sleep in clothing. Wifi did not work and network could not be found. The large TV had been left precariously hanging on a rail, so needs to be fixed before it falls on a child. There were no batteries in the remote, so although we could not go out, we could not even watch the TV. Toilet roll ran out first use and no spare rolls. No shower curtain over bath and ran too slowly to fill. Dangerous, exposed socket in bedroom. Fire surround was loose, with access to exposed wires. Broken glass pieces had been left on a kitchen shelf. No fire extinguisher/blanket in kitchen. There was no hairdryer, iron and board, as stated in the listing.
Reported the main issues to management via email on arrival evening, as no telephone contact provided. Two detailed follow-up emails sent, but no response after 2 weeks!
