Positives - the area is absolutely fine, very commutable. Nice places for brunch nearby. Hotel breakfast is absolutely fine. Negatives - noticed dried blood, hair and a hole in our bedsheets. These for replaced immediately once we called to reception. Replaced with stained sheets. Horrifically stained. The rooftop bar sells the worst "cocktails" we have ever had, all still at cocktail prices. The staff were not friendly on arrival, we're actually extremely rude and abrupt. A higher price for a lower quality hotel.

The bed was comfortable, lighting was very good in bathroom, good safe, and great water pressure in shower. Several good restaurants only one block away and the beach was an easy walk.

The hotel itself was very nice. The bar and view on top the roof is worth staying here, overlooking the city and ocean. We stayed in numerous hotels on our trip and the breakfast here is the best. The housekeeping staff was very nice. Some of the reception staff was cold to us a few times when we asked for help. The hotel is about a $15 taxi to Las Ramblas. There were lots of food options near by.

Me and my daughter had a 4 night stay here recently and I was very impressed. Sometimes you look at images of hotels and they don’t live up to expectations in real life, however this far exceeded them. Staff were very friendly and helpful when needed, the rooms were clean and modern. My main wants from a hotel is a comfy bed, a decent powerful shower and good air conditioning, and this rocked all those boxes. The bed was more comfy than my one at home! The AC could be a little more powerful, but it does do the job. We had breakfast one day in the hotel and the choice was very good, but as we are not big breakfast eaters we didn’t pay for it everyday. The other factors I based my decision to stay here on was proximity to a metro station and beach - the metro station Llacuna is about 6-7 min walk at most, and the beach within 15. The area is more suburban and not as nice as the city but it feels safe and there are shops and supermarkets around. The rooftop terrace and pool is a stand out feature - I was blown away by this. At night the bar and terrace is so lovely with great views over the city, including the Sagrada Familia, which I could actually see from our bedroom window. The pool is lovely, with uninterrupted views out over the sea. We will be returning to Barcelona as it’s our favourite city, and I’d love to stay here again, for the price it’s exceptional.
