About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Tiny House in the Trees with Fire Pit/Foscoe/No damage from Helene!

Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four and bar-seating for two. In the living area there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi.

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat wooded and grassy yard for exploring plus a firepit and plenty of seating (rocking chairs, swing, table and chairs). We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!

Guest access
You will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons, you can enjoy over an acre of our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) with bocce ball, croquet, etc. We have a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring, too. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading, or chatting plus a firepit to warm you on chilly nights.

Other things to note *
Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, and skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing, and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Also of note, we get a good cellular signal on our property. Our property is treated but since we are in the middle of the woods there is a chance you will see a bug or two, especially during the warmer months!

The Beds Were Comfortable
Not what we pictured. This is an older structure located between a storage business and some sort of factory on the other side. Cut off the main road and make your way through sort of a junkyard to get to the house. All the outdoor furniture was covered with leaves, dirt, and cobwebs. Anytime you use hot water (shower, sink, etc.) it sounds like someone is using a chainsaw outside. Beds were comfy. In the mornings especially, you can hear loud, loud noises from some sort of factory (like dump trucks loading and unloading). If it’s just about location…it’s not bad. Close to Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Boone, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain bridge.

Tiny House Big Furniture
The house was cute, and the sectional couch doesn't belong nor does the second bed, together they took up much of the interior. Our only issue was with our arrival, we never received any instructions on entry, directions, etc., until we arrived. I contacted the owner and all went well afterwards.

A senior citizen with walking issues, parking close to door was an issue. I had a lovely stay and I would rent again if I were by myself.

The tiny home was great for the two of us. Clean and very quiet!! Loved how centralized it was to two different towns and close to a gas station for late night snacks. Will stay again.

The perfect getaway!
This little mountain house was marvelous! We planned a romantic getaway and this was exactly what we needed. I have never slept so well after a long day of hiking as I did on the comfiest bed/pillows. We will definitely book this house again.

Disappointing
Functional space lacking any charm for the price. We were disappointed with traffic noise and behind commercial property. Online pictures made it look quite remote. Amenities like thick towels, better kitchen utensils, etc. could be improved without a lot of cost and would enhance a stay at this property.

What a great place to stay!
My daughter and I needed a place to stay to explore the Grandfather Mtn/ Linville area. This place was great. The owner was very communicative, its centrally located and a short trip to Grandfather Mountain bridge and Linville Falls. We can't recommend this place enough for its amenities and comfort. Easy in and out and if you want to spend a night in, the firepit is an easy distraction. Highly recommend.

Close to area attractions
Great little place to stay, good proximity to local attractions and restaurants. Perfect for a couple. Accurate description and helpful guide provided. It's easy to park at and get to compared to a lot of mountain rentals. Bed was comfortable, good shower and fun eclectic furnishings. Only had some minor suggestions - it could use lighting on back outside and over bathroom vanity and a rug when you walk in as it was rainy when we arrived and became slippery. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back!
