I really like this hotel in terms of location, quality of rooms, and price. They even upgraded us to a suite. One frustration this time is that the heat did not come on. It just blew cold air. I notified the front desk and they said that the hotel can only do AC or heat on any given day and that they were in AC mode. That's frustrated because they did not inform us in any way about that. They ended up bringing up a space heater, which mostly solved the problem, but they should have been more proactive about letting us know about this weird limitation. And they should fix their system so each room can decide what it wants to do independently.

the hotel itself was a good stay. The front desk staff were nice and the doormen were always helpful. We stayed in a suite and it was quite spacious, even had a kitchen (if I'd paid more attention to the description I'd have brought food to stock the fridge). The room was super clean and it was very comfortable - especially the bed. The furniture is a bit dated but nothing dreadful. A new style sofa and chairs would make a dramatic difference. The shower had very good water pressure and hot water was delivered almost instantly (big plus). The bathroom was a little on the smallish side (the plethora of mirrors have illusion of bigger space - nice touch), but it was very clean and very functional (it could use an exhaust fan if you're not going to allow the window to be opened). If there was any complaint, it was the parking. It's DC so it's to be expected. Had to park maybe half block away the first night in their overflow garage (not horrible), but we were able to move to the hotel garage the next day. Wouldn't be a big deal if not for the price. It's a bit on the steep side at nearly $50 a night, so take that into consideration (I wish Yelp allowed half-stars ... would've been 5 stars if not for that). Aside from the price tag for parking, we had absolutely no complaints about the hotel and plan on staying here again next time we're in the area.
