I booked a king suite at the La Quinta Riverwalk, and when I checked in and entered my room, there was a strange man in the bed! I double-checked my key, and the room number and it was correct. He said he had been there for three days. We were both booked in the same room! As a female traveling alone, it was an extremely unsafe situation. I asked for another room that didn't have a person already in it. They gave me a small double room and never provided any housekeeping services for the 5 days I was there. I tried to call the front desk to ask for towels and for my trash to be taken out, but no one answered after calling several times and letting the phone ring for minutes at a time. Did I mention that there was a kids basketball tournament going on in the Alamodome and kids were playing basketball up and down the halls at all hours? Again, no answer at the front desk. At checkout, I asked for the manager, who said I would have to work out any refund with Travelocity. I filed a complaint on March 17th, and as of April 11th, Travelocity has not offered any kind of refund. The hotel is saying that because I stayed there, there should be no refund, even for the cost difference between the two rooms. Travelocity said it would take 4-5 business days for them to look into the issue further, but three weeks later, I have heard nothing. Noisy, dirty, unsafe, nonresponsive, and dishonest.
