We had a five day four night stay in this all inclusive resort and we were only allowed to visit the restaurants twice we had to make reservations in advance, which was OK, but we forgot and the resort was practically empty and they still would not allow us to make a late reservation we asked for a king size bed. We received two full beds. They said they will push the beds together and make one bed. They push the bed together and left a 3 inch gap so we still had two beds we had to ask multiple times for anything we needed , the food was subpar. The drinks were subpar. I would not recommend.

The adult pool was excellent , no kids , the buffet was sometimes a challenge because some parents would not supervise there kids and let them run around and make a lot of noise .

Barcelo is a wonderful resort! While it was my first resort, it exceeded my expectations. Location was beautiful - the resort has the beach to itself. It was not crowded. We were easily able to do all the things we wanted. Pools were great, drinks were flowing, staff was EXCEPTIONAL - we did not have one bad staff experience. The ocean tides were pretty rough, so we did not get in but I saw others do it. The only negative would be that the food wasn't always great. The Italian place was bad and the Spanish/Steakhouse were okay. However, the poolside grill for lunches was AMAZING. We made sure to bring our own water since the previous reviews said people were getting sick. Do remember to wear bug spray - there's small mosquitos that bite and you don't realize it to later that day.
