This is the first time I have had to write such a negative review. This was the worst hotel experience I have had in its entirety. 1. The hotel is on the corner or a busy section of downtown LA - trying to pull in and get out is a disaster with cars blocking the 3 rows. And waiting for your car - takes forever! Hire people to direct the cars or more staff! 2. I checked in - went to the room; key didn’t work so go back with maintenance only to find out someone was in the room. 3. Go to check out the next day and about 20 people are stuck on our floor for up to 30 mins waiting for an elevator. Yes it was around check out time but this was crazy! I called front desk - they came and took everyone through the service elevators. I felt so bad for the front desk and the manager on duty & they were the best part of my stay. I am a huge fan of Doubletree but I will never stay at this location again.

The staff were good and friendly. Welcome cookies were delicious. The room itself is not in the best condition. It’s quite noisy. We could hear traffic and sirens all the time. The bathroom has a bad design. The water came out of the shower pan easily and flooded around. The design of the bath room makes it very inconvenient.

Great for the price
Our son had an assignment that was going to require for us to stay in LA overnight so we needed to quickly book a room for two nights that wasn’t going to break that bank. We found this Doubletree and really booked off of brand name and how close things are. You are in the heart of Little Tokyo so there are cool places to eat and there is a 7/11 across the street. I strongly recommend Howlin Rays as well, their chicken sandwich was beyond!! The room was clean and the staff were friendly. We had a garden view which also gave us a great view of downtown. The cons: the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom and in the room, self-parking parking is 47.00, there is no room service, TV options are outdated and overall the rooms could use a bit of spiffing up.
